2018-03-21 Thread Jamie Bennett
Public bug reported:

Dell XPS 13 9350 on AC power left running overnight, suspends after a
given timeout. When coming back the next morning sometimes the laptop
resumes to an aubergine desktop (just the screen, no GDM) and cursor and
sits there forever. Sometimes it resumes to a black screen and cursor.

[Bug 1749228] Re: Installing from sd card fails on some hardware

2018-02-13 Thread Jamie Bennett
Another data point, to be able to boot the SD Card you need to press f12
for the boot screen during start-up and select legacy boot: sd card.

SD Card is a generic 16GB card from Amazon that came part of a package
with a Raspberry Pi3 (branded with a Raspberry Pi logo). This (micro)SD
card is housed in an adapter (also Raspberry Pi branded).

Finally, this happened whilst trying to install Bionic.

adaptor, when more than one is present, turns off all wifi adaptors. The
toggle switch is visible per adaptor and gives the impression that you
can selectively turn off an adaptor which doesn't seem to be the case.

[Bug 1654389] [NEW] Using snapcraft register with capital letters fails with little explanation

2017-01-05 Thread Jamie Bennett
Public bug reported:

Only snap names with all lowercase can be registered in the store which
means that a snapcraft register should explain this explicitly when a
user tries to do it. Currently what happens is:

jamie@golstein:~$ snapcraft register Firefox

Registration failed.

The name 'firefox' is already taken.

We can if needed rename snaps to ensure they match the expectations of
most users. If you are the publisher most users expect for 'firefox'
then claim the name at 'https://myapps.developer.ubuntu.com/dev/click-

The former error has little explanation, the latter is much more clear.

[Bug 1595721] [NEW] snap try does not auto install ubuntu-core

2016-06-23 Thread Jamie Bennett
Public bug reported:

When using snap try it is possible to install a snap without installing
the ubuntu-core snap on a clean system i.e. no snaps installed. Usually
when using snap install for the first time the ubuntu-core snap is
automatically installed and this should be the case for snap try as
well.

Steps to reproduce:
1) Have a clean system without any snaps
2) snap try prime on any local snap

Expected behaviour:
snap try will detect that no ubuntu-core snap is installed and automatically
install it for you.

Actual behaviour:
No ubuntu-core snap is installed.

[Bug 711181] [NEW] No video out on Freescale iMX51 board (bbg 3.0)

2011-02-01 Thread Jamie Bennett
Public bug reported:

Booting with the headless Linaro 11.05 Alpha-2 release there is no video
out from the DVI port. Talking to amitk this is because mainline does
not yet support it but should for the 11.11 cycle.

This bug should be used as a tracking bug to ensure that when support is
enabled we turn it on and test.
