[Bug 992133] Re: Filezilla crashes when connecting to remote site

2012-05-14 Thread Jan Owoc
I was experiencing crashing of FileZilla with the oxygen-gtk theme in
Kubuntu 12.04. Bug #987410 outlined a few temporary workarounds.

Updating gtk2-engines-oxygen from precise-proposed fixed the problem
permanently, and I can revert to using the oxygen-gtk theme. I have no
problems with the update.

[Bug 987410] Re: filezilla crashes when closing site manager

2012-04-27 Thread Jan Owoc
I can confirm that silenx's workaround works for me.

"System Settings" -> "Application Appearance" -> "GTK+ Appearance" -> "Widget
style"
pick one of "Raleigh" or "Oxygen-Molecule"

The former looks out-of-place, while the latter requires you to install
the package "oxygen-molecule" from the universe repository.

Because filezilla works correctly with two other themes, would the bug
be in the "oxygen-gtk" theme (as opposed to in FileZilla itself)?

[Bug 987410] [NEW] filezilla crashes when closing site manager

2012-04-23 Thread Jan Owoc
Public bug reported:

Fresh install of Kubuntu 12.04 (release candidate).

Steps to reproduce:
1. Install and open FileZilla (I installed through the package manager)
2. Open the site manager
3. Click "Ok"
4. Window disappears

To get more info on the error, I ran it from the command line:
~$ filezilla
The program 'filezilla' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)'.
  (Details: serial 34523 error_code 3 request_code 155 minor_code 3)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)
~$ filezilla --sync
The program 'filezilla' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)'.
  (Details: serial 67486 error_code 3 request_code 155 minor_code 3)

option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

I don't know how to further diagnose the problem, but it looks like a
missing/broken dependency.

[Bug 459819] [NEW] folder translation (Polish) displaying incorrectly

2009-10-24 Thread Jan Owoc
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: netbook-launcher

In the English translation, the "Files and Folders" category has
"Folders" in bold.

tags "Foldery", as opposed to simply big and bold. (see
attached screenshot)

[Bug 103583] Re: Improve graphical timezone chooser, provide choice to enter actual timezones

2008-04-25 Thread Jan Owoc
I had a problem choosing my timezone on Ubuntu 8.04 during install, but
the problem is of a slightly different nature.

My timezone is Canada/Edmonton. When I move my mouse over Canada, the map zooms
into Canada automatically. When I move my mouse toward Edmonton (about 500 km
north of the Canada/US border), the map zooms into the US.
Eventually I noticed I didn't need to actually click on Edmonton, and if I
clicked 500 km north it would still work.

As a suggestion to the graphical interface, one of the earlier versions
of Ubuntu (6.04 ?, 6.10 ?) had a selector where I would first click on
Canada, then could click on the city without having the map moving all
over the place. I found this more user-friendly to click twice, than to
have the map autoscroll.
