I have the same issue here. It only happens when using the NVidia
display driver.

I get this in Kern.log when it happens:

[Bug 432620] Re: needs to load (or wait for) filesystem modules e.g. xfs

2009-11-09 Thread Jan Petersen
Hi All,

I have the same error 32 problem on my root file system (well all mount points
really, since most are dependent on the root file system for mount points).
using final 9.10 release with MountAll v. 1.0, system is an upgrade from Jaunty.
I've tried all tips listed on various blog posts and forums, including changing
UUID's to /dev/sd* entries, and disabling fsck in fstab, but nothing helps.
The root file system is loaded read-only at boot, and then the process halts
with the error 32 messages.
I can force the boot to disregard the errors that it spews out by remounting
the root system rw from recovery shell and then type exit. It's ugly but it
allow me to enter the system. Albeit with only the root system mounted.

[Bug 307358] [NEW] Keyring not accessible under KDE using libpam-gnome-keyring

2008-12-11 Thread Jan Petersen
Public bug reported:

Hi All,

I have a problem getting libpam-gnome-keyring to work under KDE (KUBUNTU 8.10).
When login in, I can see the keyring process running. But when launching
Evolution, it does not seam to be using the keyring. Instead it always asks me
for the POP3 password.
Reason seams to be, that the keyring is started without access to the display.
Anyone know how to fix this?

Installation was done according to the libpam-gnome-keyring
README.debian file:

/etc/pam.d/kdm contains:
auth   required pam_nologin.so
auth   required pam_env.so readenv=1
auth   required pam_env.so readenv=1 envfile=/etc/default/locale
auth   optional pam_gnome_keyring.so
@include common-auth
sessionrequired pam_limits.so
sessionoptional pam_gnome_keyring.so  auto_start
@include common-account
@include common-password
@include common-session

/var/log/auth.log contains:
Dec 11 22:53:11 laptop gnome-keyring-ask: Gtk: cannot open display:
Dec 11 22:53:11 laptop gnome-keyring-daemon[5691]: missing dialog response
fromask tool
Dec 11 22:53:11 laptop gnome-keyring-daemon[5691]: the gnome-keyring-daemon
process may not have been initialized properly, as its environment is missing
the 'DISPLAY' variable.

** Affects: gnome-keyring (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New
