[Bug 971313] [NEW] plasma-desktop freezes on login if non-executable files are in ~/.kde/Autostart

2012-04-02 Thread Jason Frost
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu Release: Kubuntu 12.04
Package Version: 4:4.7.4-0ubuntu0.1
Expected Results: Normal functionality of plasma-desktop
Actual Results: plasma-desktop slowed to an intolerable crawl

Have reproduced this bug twice so far, when I have a .sh file without +x
in ~/.kde/Autostart, after a few seconds (loading startup apps), plasma-
desktop slows to a crawl, almost freezing - it actually does function,
but not enough to count, Kickoff takes over 5 minutes to load.

** Affects: kde-workspace (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Bug 578848] Re: Not starting gw6c - no server key

2012-03-31 Thread Jason Frost
Hi, I know this is a very old bug report, but it's still valid - the
same error happened to me today.

As said in the original report, running gw6c once will download the key,
but the reason why it won't work for everyone is because keys are
rejected if you're redirected to a hostname other than the one in your
gw6c.conf file - the solution to this is to put the final server you are
connecting to as the server in your gw6c.conf, so for mine, as I connect
to sydney.freenet6.net, I had to set my server to that.

Once this is done, the workaround in #2 is not necessary.

[Bug 911052] Re: ubiquity crashed upon choosing not to restart

2012-01-03 Thread Jason Frost
Okay - quick update on this one, apparently before this happened, it
failed to install packages from the installation source (USB stick in my
case, made with the USB Startup Disk Creator from Ubuntu).

Not sure if it's related or a different bug but NO packages were
installed and the OS was unable to start.

It didn't even install the bootloader, I tried reinstalling the
bootloader by starting the live OS from the USB and using grub-install,
and that worked, however Ubuntu still wouldn't start (vmlinuz existed,
but there was no initrd, it just kernel paniced when I tried to start
it)

[Bug 911052] [NEW] ubiquity crashed upon choosing not to restart

2012-01-02 Thread Jason Frost
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu Release: 12.04

Not a big deal here - it didn't crash until after it had finished

[Bug 891245] [NEW] randomly stops working with my wpa2 enterprise network

2011-11-16 Thread Jason Frost
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu version: 12.04
Package version: 0.9.1.90-0ubuntu5

My college network uses WPA2 Enterprise. Sometimes when I'm connected to
it, the connection simply drops, and won't reconnect unless I click the
network icon in the top bar, and disable networking, then re-enable it.
Only the WPA2 Enterprise network is affected, the WPA2-PSK network
connects fine and doesnt have this issue.

[Bug 890845] [NEW] Pidgin depends specifically on perl 5.12

2011-11-15 Thread Jason Frost
Public bug reported:

Running 12.04 Precise, and just updated my packages - since precise now uses
perl 5.14, pidgin has broken dependencies:
(for libpurple0:)
Requires: libperl5.12
Requires: perlapi5.12.4

(for pidgin:)
Requires: perlapi5.12.4

I suggest that these dependencies are changed for Precise so that they
rely on the appropriate packages for Perl 5.14.

[Bug 889934] [NEW] manpage for 'killall' incorrect

2011-11-13 Thread Jason Frost
Public bug reported:

This isn't a big issue, just a couple slight errors in the manpage for
'killall'.

- for -o (--older-than), the manpage says 'Match only processes that are
older (started before) the time specified', I think this should say
'Match only processes that are older than (started before) the time
specified'

- for -y (--younger-than), the manpage states the same as for -o, 'Match
only processes that are older (started before) the time specified', this
should say 'Match only processes that are younger than (started before)
the time specified.

This bug affects the following versions: 22.10-1 (latest available in
lucid), 22.11-1 (latest available in maverick) , 22.13-1 (latest
available in natty) and 22.14-1 (latest available in oneiric and
precise).

I have attached a patch for the latest version in oneiric and precise
(22.14-1), however the same patch should work for the other versions
where this bug is present.

[Bug 762167] Re: missing dependency on gtk2-engines-pixbuf

2011-11-11 Thread Jason Frost
Confirmed in 12.04 Precise Pangolin as well - I agree that perhaps the
gtk2-engines-pixbuf package should be added to the dependencies for
light-themes, as it obviously references it. Alternatively, the source
of the errors should be fixed so that the package isn't needed.

[Bug 889377] [NEW] Tomboy uses the proxy settings from 'manual' even though the system proxy settings are set to 'none'

2011-11-11 Thread Jason Frost
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu Release: Ubuntu Precise 12.04
Tomboy Release: 1.8.0-1ubuntu1.1

What I expected to happen:
For Tomboy to respect my system proxy setting of 'none.'

What happened instead:
Tomboy instead used the saved settings for the Manual proxy settings, despite
the fact that Manual was disabled, and None was saved as system proxy settings
- to fix this, I had to delete all my manual settings, save to system defaults,
then switch back to None - otherwise some other applications didn't work.
