[Bug 730976] Re: Missing support for animated menu icons: Could not handle image type 6

2011-04-27 Thread JeSTeR7
I don't know how important it is, but it's rendered the Facebook portion
of Gwibber completely useless. The thing is, I guess nobody uses
Gwibber, so I can't find ANYONE that cares about it.

When connecting to a VPN, when disconnecting, nm-applet does not

[Bug 452716] Re: System freeze (blinking caps lock) during heavy downloading

2009-11-11 Thread JeSTeR7
I cannot be the only one with this problem. There is thread after
thread of hard locks and blinking caps lock on the ubuntu forums
that all seem to have to do with the broadcom wl driver. I cannot use
the wireless connection for anything other than browsing, as downloading
files locks the computer.

If creating a bug on launchpad gets no response, what are my other
options?

I'm getting a kernel panic (unresponsive system/caps lock flashing) when

happen during the download of a large file or multiple large files.

Can also confirm the package provided by Stefan removes the problem and
gives me flicker-free video at 800mhz. Thanks, devs!

[Bug 322616] Re: System freezes with capslock blinking

2009-05-04 Thread JeSTeR7
I just started having this problem on my Acer Extensa 5420 since
upgrading to Jaunty. I assumed it was a hardware failure because of the
caps lock blinking, but this tells me otherwise. System logs do not
show any indication of a crash.

My processor is an AMD Turion X2 TL-58, if that is of any help.

[Bug 351291] Re: [X1250] screen flickers when CPU is at low frequency

2009-04-15 Thread JeSTeR7
The second fix Jens posted seems to work pretty well, though the
flickering is still there.

I'd say this is a pretty big bug, considering that with the removal of
support for so many legacy ATI cards, especially the x1200 and x1250,
from the fglrx drivers, there will be thousands of users dealing with
this flickering when Jaunty goes live.

[Bug 351291] Re: [X1250] screen flickes when CPU is at low frequency

2009-04-08 Thread JeSTeR7
Wow, excellent find on the CPU frequency. I've had this problem since
upgrading to Jaunty beta (and being forced away from fglrx).

I'm using the AMD64 version, and can confirm that setting minimum
1600mhz on my CPU dramatically reduces the flickering.

This is an excellent workaround until a fix HOPEFULLY is released, as I
use my laptop plugged in most of the time.

Please let me know anything I can post (logs, configs, etc..) to help
this bug get fixed.

[Bug 136743] Re: Home folder permissions

2009-03-12 Thread JeSTeR7
I cannot possibly imagine why this would intentionally be left as-is.
If Ubuntu is to be taken seriously as a multiuser desktop OS, making the
home folder private should be a high priority.

[Bug 288868] Re: terminal server client disables mouse on desktop

Here is a screenshot of what happens to me when I leave the Computer

This does not occur if you simply click Connect or tab to another
field and hit the enter key.

[Bug 260745] Re: ufw should support insertion of rules

2008-12-04 Thread JeSTeR7
I'd like to agree that this seems like a necessary feature of any
firewall software. Anybody who actively monitors their firewall would
need the ability to block IP addresses that attempt intrusion. I
thought I was doing this, seeing as giving a 'ufw status' command would
tell me that the IP address was being blocked, but my apache access log
proved otherwise.

I was able to use the OP's command in my before.rules file, but I am not
familiar enough with iptables to do anything with it on my own. That's
why I'm using ufw to begin with ;).
