[Bug 898821] Re: Ambiance and Radiance Gtk theme break page rendering

2012-10-25 Thread JeanAustinR
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to
look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many
changes in Ubuntu (and Mozilla Firefox) since that time you reported the
bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. It
would help us a lot if you could test it on a currently supported Ubuntu
version. When you test it and it is still an issue, kindly upload the
updated logs by running apport-collect bug # and any other logs that
are relevant for this particular issue.

[Bug 905621] Re: Tried dual boot install with Vista. Installer crashed

2011-12-18 Thread JeanAustinR
So that's what's causing the problem. I guess we can agree that this is
not an installer bug but a hardware error. If yes, I'll convert this to
a question and request you to mark it as closed.

On the other hand, you can still check the erratic hard drive for bad
blocks using this command: sudo badblocks -n -v /dev/sdx (sda1, etc). If
it also mounts to the already installed Ubuntu, open Disk Utility and
look for the SMART status.

[Bug 744917] Re: LCD Brightness Resets After Resuming from Idle State

2011-10-20 Thread JeanAustinR
Hi Pedro, my notebook is already running Oneiric Ocelot. I am still
having a problem with screen brightness after resuming from idle mode,
closing the lid or start/restart. It does not remember the brightness
level that's why I need to adjust it every time. I am currently
following this thread of bug #568611 and has already applied Kamal
Mostafa's PPA/patch.

I am linking this bug report to that for better tracking.

Thanks Pedro for the attention and assistance.

[Bug 568611] Re: Screen brightness control fails on Dell Studio 1558

2011-10-18 Thread JeanAustinR
This fix works on my notebook, however, I noticed two things:
1. Whenever I start my computer, the brightness is at its maximum. It does not
remember the last settings.
2. When my computer resumes from idle mode, the screen is not turned off,
instead, brightness is at its lowest.

How do I fix it? Thanks

[Bug 568611] Re: Screen brightness control fails on Dell Studio 1558

2011-09-04 Thread JeanAustinR
Thank you Kamal (and everyone) for continuously providing help and
solution for this issue. I have one quick question. Although I don't
think it's proper to post it here but I assume it's related to the
kernel I applied via the PPA. Since installing it, my wireless is
disabled and could not be activated (as seen in the screenshot) even
when I press the Wifi button. I am using HP Pavilion dv3t, Intel.

I don't remember the changes I made but if anyone could help me figure
out which, it would be very much appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi BZFLATER, if you could provide more details so we can test if
chromium-browser really does reboots your system, that would help bug
triagers sort out things. But like Ketil mentioned, and I agree with
him, the browser is unlikely to cause the system shut down.

How many tabs are opened, what kind of websites are being accessed, what

considerations I can think of. But then again, it might be a hardware

[Bug 722028] [NEW] Unable to Move Tab, Creates New Window Instead on Chromium Browser

2011-02-19 Thread JeanAustinR
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: chromium-browser

This occurs if you have multiple tabs open in a single window. When you
try to move a tab either to the left or to the right, it instead creates
a new window. The only way to move it back is to click the Restore
window control button of the original window to unmaximize it and then
drag the tab (that was apparently removed from it) to it.

The version of Chromium Web Browser in which this bug was tested is
9.0.597.98 (74359) on an Ubuntu 10.10 notebook.

However, this did not occur when it was tested on a Lubuntu machine with
the same daily (stable) build.

References to this bug includes Google Help Forums

I believe this bug should be reported upstream. I created this bug

[Bug 627565] Re: Twitter dropping support for basic auth

2010-09-02 Thread JeanAustinR
It worked for the daily build, it also worked for version 2.30.2~bzr742.

[Bug 624017] Re: Gwibber failed to fetch twitter timeline, August 23

[Bug 615356] Re: Personal Twitter Avatar is on the Wrong Side

2010-09-01 Thread JeanAustinR
Thanks Ken. Twitter however acknowledges login even when you type it in all
small letters?
Should Gwibber associate it also like Twitter does?
