[Bug 842275] Re: Not all software-center icons updated

2011-09-09 Thread Jeff Rash
I had the same issue.

I fixed it by coping the icon
/usr/share/icons/hicolor/128x128/apps/softwarecenter.svg over the
/usr/share/icons/hicolor/scalable/apps/softwarecenter.svg icon.

2011-05-10 Thread Jeff Rash
I enabled pre-release updates and installed all them. Now bluetooth
works for me. I know that's like using a hammer to fix a watch, but it
worked.

2009-10-23 Thread Jeff Rash
Get used to it. I waited for a year to get a fix for my network manager GTC
issue. It never came and now I'm back to Windows.

I'm so dissapointed.. I waited for more than six months for a bug fix
but it didn't come... Well maybe the daily build for POWER PC is still
lagging behind X86 one I'll have to wait for the release date to be able
to update my installation. For now it just says MALFORMED release
file... god knows what that means!

[Bug 284211] Re: [intrepid] network-manager-gnome 0.7 missing PEAP-GTC option

2009-06-10 Thread Jeff Rash
I now have to have GTC for my wired network at work. I have downgraded
to 0.6.6 and GTC is working on the wired network, however I'm still
having issues with the wireless.

This bug is now 8 months old. Is anyone working on the problem?

There is a temporary workaround. You can install the one from Hardy. I tried
and it worked. But the 3G-broadband setup will become harder, since you will
have to do it manually. But if you are just going to use the wifi
connection, there shouldn't be any problem.

Can you explain how to do this?

Me too. Confirmed using fresh install of Jaunty on Dell Latitude D420
+ Dell Bluetooth 350 + Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000. The sudo
hidd --search trick also works for me. However, I have to do it ever
time I reboot.

[Bug 343727] Re: [Jaunty] Cannot connect to a Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000

2009-04-27 Thread Jeff Rash
I found the post below in Bug #284982, I did the first two commands.

$hcitool dev
Devices:
hci000:16:41:96:77:64
$sudo hciconfig hci0 reset

Once it was reset bluez just picked up the mouse and started working. I
guess that's because I had added it in the GUI before. It also works
after I restart Ubuntu. Please test and let me know what you discover
on your systems.

Miroslav ġurian wrote on 2009-04-05 in Bug #284982:

SOLVED

Open a terminal and issue:

hcitool dev
sudo hciconfig hci0 reset
hcitool scan
sudo hcitool cc MACaddres

On my machine it looks like this:

a...@acutake:~$ hcitool dev
Devices:
hci0 00:0A:3A:88:3A:0E --This is the ID and MAC address of your bluetooth
 controller
a...@acutake:~$ sudo hciconfig hci0 reset
a...@acutake:~$ hcitool scan
Scanning ...
 00:0F:DE:87:9F:EA Aas-P910i
a...@acutake:~$ sudo hcitool cc 00:0F:DE:87:9F:EA --This is the MAC address
of your mouse
a...@acutake:~$

Then you simply add new bluetooth device via bluetooth aplet on the panel.
The device should be discovered now. A least, it worked for me. :-)
Enjoy!

I have attached a debug trace of my tomboy to folder sync, however I get

You change in on the Wireless Security tab for the network you are
trying to connect to. It's a drop down called PEAP Version and the
options are Version 0 or Version 1.
