[Bug 1201996] Re: Options 'destdir' and 'tmpfs' ignored in config file

2013-07-22 Thread Jeffrey Wildman
Similarly, the '--templates' option also appears to be ignored within
the configuration file, but works fine via command line.

--
[DEFAULT]
templates  = /path/to/templates/directory
--

Should I update the bug title?

[Bug 994199] Re: vmbuilder and /etc/sudoers template missing sudo group support

2013-07-19 Thread Jeffrey Wildman
I am experiencing similar issues. The host machine is Ubuntu 13.04
Server 64-bit. The host /etc/sudoers file contains the sudo group. Any
VMs built contain an /etc/sudoers file without mention of the sudo
group.

Further, the line including the contents of the directory
/etc/sudoers.d/ is missing (should I file a separate bug report?). Both
issues appear as though they'd be fixed by updating the sudoers.tmpl
template.

[Bug 1201996] [NEW] Options 'destdir' and 'tmpfs' ignored in config file

2013-07-16 Thread Jeffrey Wildman
Public bug reported:

vmbuilder options 'destdir' and 'tmpfs' work when I supply them via
command line:

$sudo vmbuilder kvm ubuntu --debug --dest /opt/vms --tmpfs -

The debug output shows tmpfs being created and mounted, and the supplied
output directory for the vm is used.

However, supplying them within a configuration file does not appear to
work:

--
[DEFAULT]
tmpfs = -
destdir = /opt/vms
--

No mention of tmpfs appears at the same place in the debug as before,
and the supplied output directory for the vm image is ignored.

[Bug 897455] [NEW] i486 and i586 supported, i386 not so much?

2011-11-28 Thread Jeffrey Wildman
Public bug reported:

The installation guide [1] reports that oneiric is not supported on i586
or earlier processors. Changes in Debian did indeed drop support for
i386 and older processors, but i486 and newer are still supported [2].

The installation guide for previous versions of Ubuntu contains the same
text. (I did not check to see how far back this goes.)

Also, I am running Ubuntu 11.10 on an i586 processor.

[Bug 440179] Re: service fails to start/stop/restart networking daemon

2011-10-07 Thread Jeffrey Wildman
I submitted a question on this to source package upstart. The problem
seems to stem from 'service' using the upstart command 'restart' whose
documentation states (man restart):

Note that this command can only be used when there is an instance of
JOB, if there is none then it returns an error instead of starting a new
one
