[Bug 377005] Re: Ubuntu is too attached to Canonical

2009-05-15 Thread Jerome S. Gotangco
This is like saying a software company involved in open source, one way
or another has no rights to do other things that are perhaps non-open
source in origin for their right to engage in business. So pretty much
every company out there, even Red Hat and SuSE.

Re: [Bug 78698] Re: help button does not work in gnome-app-install

2007-01-12 Thread Jerome S. Gotangco
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

It shouldn't be that much and its perfectly safe, I wrote the help file
of gnome-app-install and its docbook xml. Since XFCE doesn't have a help
file reader that reads docbook,it will definitely not run on XFCE unless
you do install Yelp.

What can be done though, is convert the xml to a format that XFCE
supports for its help files if gnome-app-install becomes a standard
software manager in the future for Xubuntu.

Re: [Bug 68072] Re: There should be screenshots in package descriptions

2006-10-26 Thread Jerome S. Gotangco
It looks feasible when done in Main, but that's still a lot, also, the
thumbnails might be too small to be appreciated, so the best way is
that if a thumbnail is clicked, a larger picture would be loaded from
the internet, but that would entail gnome-app-install to open up a new
window or take over the window being used for the description.

gvim not running from the terminal is not an issue here (it actually

What is there to hide in the first place? Gnome-App-Install is
developed openly and the source is available for download. This is
merely an issue of words used in for the actual string and we did
consider it before releasing.
