[Bug 83974] Re: [feisty] apport-gtk is opening a wrong URL

2007-02-14 Thread Jerrid Kimball
More info: The double quoted web browser preference is set by firefox
itself. If you clear the box for prefered web browser and then tell
firefox to check whether it is the default www browser it will ask to
make it so. Upon telling it to make itself the default the prefered web
browser is /usr/..firefox "%s".

One more crucial thing: In prefered applications my webbrowser was set to
/usr/lib/firefox/firefox "%s" Upon removing the quotes from %s, apport worked
perfectly. So whatever is setting it to firefox with "%s" is causing the issue
on the affected systems.

[Bug 83974] Re: [feisty] apport-gtk is opening a wrong URL

2007-02-14 Thread Jerrid Kimball
The problem is that when apport send the url to firefox there is a set
of paranthesis wrapped around the url string. If one opens the terminal
and does firefox "\"http://www.google.com\""; the problem is accurately
replicated. This is the same problem. the %22 in the url are double
quotes. Good luck, gents.

The traceback shows that is was, actually, due to Rhythmbox song changes
and not randomly like it seemed.

[Bug 84086] [apport] serpentine crashed with AssertionError in _get_progress()"

2007-02-08 Thread Jerrid Kimball
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: serpentine

Steps taken to receive error on a fresh boot.

1. Boot (obviously)
2. Insert blank disk.
3. When asked, tell Gnome to burn an audio CD.
4. Serpentine loads. Add 192kbps variable-bit-rate audio tracks to the list of
tracks to burn.
5. After waiting for Serpentine to import the tracks (12 in this case), click
"Write to Disk" button.
5. Disc writing window opens, begins converting tracks at which point
Serpentine gave the error.

The disk did burn successfully since it's a different program and, oddly,
Serpentine did not actually crash.
Perhaps, the program that crashed was a subprocess.

Re: [Bug 75574] Re: cp crashes when copying large files to usb device

2006-12-13 Thread Jerrid Kimball
my operation appears to have been much simpler than bug 63900. while
the older bug was using a combination of openssh and scp. i'm see
that scp depends on coreutils which may include cp. in conclusion,
whether the two bugs are related, i can not be certain. to me, as a
novice bug reporter, they appear different, but perhaps since 63900
rely on coreutils, like i said earlier, it may be related.
