[Bug 1642118] Re: Several TPM2.0 tests fail

2017-03-16 Thread Jerry Kao
The test results in original (2nd part) and in comment#6 were tested
tpm2-tools 1.1.0 with the test script from the same version.

The result is consistent to fail following 3 tests.
test_tpm2_quote.sh fail
test_tpm2_unseal.sh fail
test_tpm2_encryptdecrypt.sh fail

But main issue here is the tpm2-tools version on xenial/universe is outdated,
1.0.0 built on 20160226. No matter what version of test script we used, most
test cases were failed.

[Bug 1665190] [NEW] update manager stucks while querying configuration file replacement

2017-02-15 Thread Jerry Kao
Public bug reported:

When Software Updater installs new fglrx driver, the followings files should be
replaced by new ones.
(amdpcsdb.default, atiapfxx.blb, atiapfxx.log, signature, atiapfxx, and control)
A popup window shows with two options: Keep or Replace.
But, no matter which options is selected, there is no response from the popup
window and update manager freeze.
Online update process is blocked by fglrx.

It leads to fglrx update fail and system fail to boot up.

If you run command "apt-get dist-upgrade" to upgrade fglrx, these files can be
replaced successfully.
$ apt-get dist-upgrade
...
Configuration file '/etc/ati/amdpcsdb.default'
Configuration file '/etc/ati/atiapfxx.blb'
Configuration file '/etc/ati/atiapfxx.log'
Configuration file '/etc/ati/signature'
Configuration file '/etc/ati/atiapfxx'
Configuration file '/etc/ati/control'
 ==> File on system created by you or by a script.
 ==> File also in package provided by package maintainer.
   What would you like to do about it ? Your options are:
Y or I : install the package maintainer's version
N or O : keep your currently-installed version
  D : show the differences between the versions
  Z : start a shell to examine the situation
 The default action is to keep your current version.
*** control (Y/I/N/O/D/Z) [default=N] ? I

[Bug 1658999] Re: [Xenial Regression] Kernel panics on HDMI in Xenial

2017-01-25 Thread Jerry Kao
I took the xps15 from tai. The kernel is already upgraded to 4.4.0-62.
I tested it with PHILIPS 288PL6 4K monitor and cannot reproduce the issue.
Connected the monitor via HDMI and Type-C (to HDMI) ports and both works well.
All display modes are available. Checked dmesg and /var/log/syslog, there is no
similar warning or kernel panics messages.

2016-11-15 Thread Jerry Kao
Public bug reported:

Install tpm2-tools then run some test scripts from git
(https://github.com/01org/tpm2.0-tools/tree/master/test). There are
several tests failed.

steps

3.Run resource manager daemon
  $ sudo resourcemgr
4.Run test script
  $ cd tpm2.0-tools/test
  $ ./test_all.sh
5.Check test results in test_all_fail.log and test_all_pass.log

Expected results: TPM 2.0 test items should be pass.

[Bug 1239605] Re: Combo audio jack support ("what did you plug in?"-dialog)

2016-08-29 Thread Jerry Kao
While plug in an audio device and the dialog prompt, there are one
additional option 'Headphones' appearing in Output settings and two
options 'Headset Microphone', 'Microphone' in Input settings. The
selected options will be changed after plugged in device is clicked.

Headphones clicked
Output --> Headphones
Input --> Internal Microphone

Headset clicked
Output --> Headphones
Input --> Headset Microphone

Microphone clicked
Output --> Speakers
Input --> Microphone

The rest options are still selectable but not functional. It would be
less confused to remove extra options. For example, when a microphone is
plugged in and clicked, there are only 'internal speakers' in output
settings and 'internal microphone', 'external microphone' in output
settings. Extra headphone and headset microphone should be removed from
output/input settings. (wishlist)

Can not reproduced this issue on Precision 5510 (Ubunut 16.04, 4.4.0-21

System can suspend/resume by close/open led successfully.

If a external monitor is connected, close led is not able to trigger
suspend (on Precision 5510)

Can not reproduced this issue on Precision 5510.

All display modes (internal, external, extended, mirror) with HDMI work.
Unplug HDMI does not cause crash/hang. But internal display is laggy
sometimes on mirror mode and has error message in dmesg when plugin
HDMI.

[Bug 1490895] Re: Skylake/Broadwell/Haswell: No HDMI audio jack detection in D3

2015-09-07 Thread Jerry Kao
I tried the fail SKL system with KH2 image. The issue Ray discovered can
be reproduced without diwic's patches. So it seems not a regression
issue for this fix.

Before install patches, no matter HDMI plug or non-plug, the error in
comment#12 could happen.
With HDMI plugging: failure rate 2/2
Without HDMI plugging: failure rate 2/3

[Bug 1490895] Re: Skylake/Broadwell/Haswell: No HDMI audio jack detection in D3

2015-09-07 Thread Jerry Kao
One additional information for comment#17

When verified fix patch, audio icon disappeared once after reboot system
with HDMI connected. Please refer attached screenshot and log. Can not
recover this issue by reboot/power off system.

After recover the system and check the clean system without patch, can
not reproduce this issue anymore.

Without patch
reboot for 5 times: can not reproduce
power off for times: can not reproduce

With patch
reboot for 5 times: can not reproduce
power off for times: can not reproduce

Conclusion
There is no evidence that the audio icon disappear issue is a regression of
this fix patch.
