[Bug 259278] Re: knetworkmanager will no longer connect

2008-10-08 Thread JesseVanHerk
Seems fixed for me with iwl3945 driver; networkmanager successfully
connects to a WEP encrypted access point and the access point shows up
when clicking on the system tray.

[Bug 261147] [NEW] knetworkmanager silently fails to connect to any wireless networks

2008-08-25 Thread JesseVanHerk
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: network-manager-kde

Reproduction steps:

- click on the networkmanager system tray icon
- click on "connect to other network"
- click on any available previously configured wireless network, encypted or
otherwise

Expected behaviour:
- GUI should display "connecting...connected" notifications and update icons
- network connection should be configured

Actual behaviour:
- config window closes, no further GUI feedback appears
- network connection is not configured
- 5 seconds after the config window closes, the following message appears in
/var/log/syslog:

Aug 25 08:20:32 kenshin NetworkManager:
wait_for_connection_expired(): Connection (2)
/org/freedesktop/NetworkManagerSettings/Connection/3 failed to activate
(timeout): (0) Connection was not provided by any settings service

Hardware is an acer aspire 5610, network driver is iwl3945, which
appears to be loaded successfully.

[Bug 258853] [NEW] friendly-recovery tries to fsck mounted partitions

2008-08-17 Thread JesseVanHerk
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: friendly-recovery

When running the fsck option from the recovery menu, and there are
separate partitions for /home and /usr/local, fsck tries checking those
partitions without first unmounting them. This results in a
confirmation prompt warning about data destruction, which is not
friendly. friendly-recovery takes efforts to prevent destroying the
root partition, but should do a similar check to avoid destroying other
partitions.

[Bug 224199] Re: I have wrong resolution after hibernating

2008-06-04 Thread JesseVanHerk
Confirmed on an Acer Aspire 5610 after upgrade from gutsy to hardy.
915resolution package is installed, confirmed that changing resolution
manually in KDE system settings to 1280x800 does not result in the
expected resolution.

[Bug 111329] Re: Acer Aspire 5610 hotkeys don't work

2008-05-25 Thread JesseVanHerk
Please try running the following commands:

sudo modprobe -r acerhk
sudo modprobe acerhk force_series=2020 poll=0

Then try using your volume hotkeys.
If that works, you can make this change permanent by adding the following line
to the end of /etc/modules:

acerhk force_series=2020 poll=0
