[Bug 479528] Re: [needs-packaging] Cfengine3
Thank you, Wouter! Unfortunately, this package has the same conflict problem - package 'cfengine2' is listed as a conflicting package, but cfengine3 is designed to coexist with its predecessor. It's really helpful to be able to have both installed simultaneously - any chance we can get cfengine2 removed from the conflict list? -- [needs-packaging] Cfengine3 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/479528 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 479528] [NEW] [needs-packaging] Cfengine3
Public bug reported: Cfengine is a popular tool for configuration management, especially useful in large-scale environments for automatically achieving desired state. Version 3, released earlier this year, is a dramatic improvement over version 2, providing a simpler, more flexible and powerful language. Version 2 is already available in universe. Debian provides a Cfengine3 package at http://packages.debian.org/sid/cfengine3, but there's a problem with it - cfengine2 is incorrectly listed as a conflicting package in their .deb's. They should be allowed to coexist - a very useful feature of 3 is that its executables use a different naming scheme than 2's variants, so v. 3 can be used to invoke v. 2, allowing the administrator to migrate configuration logic a piece at a time. Should I contact the Debian maintainers about fixing this in their version, and then request a sync on Ubuntu's side? I'd really like to see Cfengine 3 ship with Lucid - though it's a useful tool on any number of machines, it's more likely to appeal to larger organizations, who in turn might be more likely to use only LTS releases. URL: http://www.cfengine.org/pages/download License: GPL Notes: This is a duplicate of Ruben Romero's https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cfengine/+bug/352060, but that was not tagged "[needs-packaging]", so I've resubmitted. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [needs-packaging] Cfengine3 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/479528 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 352060] Re: Wishlist - cfengine3 in Ubuntu
I'd like to second that request - would be really helpful to have this available in Lucid, especially for those who stick strictly to LTS releases. -- Wishlist - cfengine3 in Ubuntu https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/352060 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 221501] [NEW] grub-installer failing on Hardy kickseed when "bootloader --md5pass" is set
Public bug reported: Looks as though kickseed (0.48) has not been updated to reflect the recent changes to grub-installer (https://cia.vc/stats/project/grub- installer, 00:54 on Apr 15). The installer fails with "grub-installer: error: Preseeding of encrypted passwords changed! Check installation guide." It appears to me that kickseed's bootloader.sh handler is passing a boolean to 'grub-installer /password-crypted' rather than an MD5 checksum and is not setting 'grub- installer/password-again'. Syslog attached - let me know if there's anything more you need. ** Affects: kickseed (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- grub-installer failing on Hardy kickseed when "bootloader --md5pass" is set https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/221501 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
