[Bug 156315] Grub does not install from the cd

Public bug reported:

I downloaded the CD for Gutsy Gibbon twice, fromn two different servers.
In both cases, when I installed from the freshly burned cd, at the end
of the installation grub did not install. When I rebooted, Ubuntu no
longer existed.

I had to reinsall Feisty Fawn.

I know. I solved the problem by reinstalling Feisty Fawn and then
upgrading from Internet. But that did not solve the problem: why did
grub not get executed during the installation?

I understand that. Well, I had to erase the partition and restart the
instllation for Feiste Fawn, so I cannot get the log files. But I used
the Desktop installer. I did not know there was an alternate one. 

Thanks for answering, anyway. I did solve my problem already. I only
wanted to point the problem out, so that it coudl be fixed.
