[Bug 363485] [NEW] headphones do not work when plugged in

Using a toshiba satellite a135-s4527.  Had the same problem in 8.10.
Sound is working on the external speakers (was not in 8.10.)  i would
expect the external speakers to turn off when the headphones are plugged
in.  worked fine on an ACER that I used to have.

I started Inkscape from the Konsole ( with 0.47 in Karmic ) and there's
what appears after a few minutes waiting, about when the window finally
appears :
