[Bug 885584] [NEW] [needs-packaging] dwsim

2011-11-03 Thread Jijua
Public bug reported:

DWSIM is an open-source CAPE-OPEN compliant chemical process simulator
for Windows, Linux and Mac. Built on the top of the Microsoft .NET 2.0
and Mono Platforms and featuring a rich Graphical User Interface (GUI),
DWSIM allows chemical engineering students and chemical engineers to
better understand the behavior of their chemical systems by using
rigorous thermodynamic and unit operations' models with no cost at all.
Since DWSIM is open source, they can see how the calculations are
actually being done by inspecting the code behind during execution using
free tools available elsewhere.

[Bug 885435] [NEW] Monitor brigthness up to max after 20 secs on battery power

2011-11-02 Thread Jijua
Public bug reported:

With no user activity (mouse or keyboard) for 20 seconds and with laptop on
battery power the screen goes to maximum brightness. This should not happen as
it increases battery power drainage.
At activity restored (user presses a keystroke or moves the mouse) screen
brightness goes back to normal (previous value).
No such problem was ever encountered on previous Ubuntu series (< 11.10).

[Bug 430987] [NEW] Rhythmbox 0.12.0 lacks bookmarks

2009-09-16 Thread Jijua
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

When listening to music or to a podcast it is handy to bookmark the different
songs/podcasts at a certain moment. This is useful because next time the user
is going to listen the same song/podcast the program can remember the exact
time the file was interrupted and allow the user to restart the listening at
that point.
Banshee has this feature, Rhythmbox 0.12.0 not.

Please implement this.

The file /etc/modprobe.d/options is no more present in 9.04 (only a
options.dpkg-bak is present in the same directory and contains the old

Re: [Bug 86217] Re: tv tuner card with saa7134 not detected automatically

2009-04-28 Thread Jijua
I have a LifeView/Typhoon Flyvideo2000 using the saa7134 module and
actually it is not detected automatically as well (using 9.04, but the
same happened since 5.04).

At boot I have to:

sudo rmmod saa7134
sudo modprobe saa7134 card=3 tuner=1

I think the same stands for other cards that need the automatic set of
the proper parameters.

To me this is not closed.

[Bug 313675] [NEW] TV card not correctly configured, saa7134 module

2009-01-04 Thread Jijua
Public bug reported:

I have a TV card (LifeView/Typhoon FlyVIDEO2000) using the saa7134 module.
Using Ubuntu 8.10, Linux Athlon-Home 2.6.27-9-generic #1 SMP Thu Nov 20
21:57:00 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux.

As I boot the system and open any TV application (i.e. Tvtime) I can see the
video but cannot hear any sound.
The problem is related with the indetermination of the correct tuner parameter
for the card at boot; infact, the saa7134 module should be loaded automatically
with the following parameters: "card=3 tuner=1".

I succeded in obtaining sound at boot by inserting the following line in
/etc/modprobe.d/options:
options saa7134 card=3 tuner=1

This is a good workaround for me but it should be better if the system
loads the module with the correct parameters automatically.
