[Bug 2079929] [NEW] docker.io should not be a hard dependency of docker-compose-v2
Public bug reported: Dear maintainer, I believe that "docker-compose-v2" should not have "docker.io" as a hard dependency, as it can be used along with other packages that provide a Docker-compatible API, such as "podman". Aside from the disk space use, requiring "docker.io" is also inconvenient because: * The Docker daemon is enabled by default as a systemd service. * It makes it impossible to install "podman-docker" and "docker-compose-v2 simultaneously, even though they are a sensible combination. The "docker-compose" package (v1) does not suffer from this issue as it declares "docker.io" as a recommended dependency. I suggest doing the same, or at least having "docker-compose-v2" require either "docker.io" or "podman". Below is an example showing how "docker-compose-v2" can be used with "podman" without "docker.io" on Ubuntu 24.04.1: ``` # apt install -y podman # apt download docker-compose-v2 # dpkg -i --ignore-depends=docker.io docker-compose-v2*.deb # mkdir my-project && cd my-project # cat < docker-compose.yml services: netcat: image: busybox command: nc -lk -p 12345 -e echo 'It works!' ports: ["12345:12345"] EOF # podman compose up -d Executing external compose provider "/usr/libexec/docker/cli-plugins/docker-compose". Please refer to the documentation for details. [...] # nc localhost 12345 It works! ``` System and package details: ``` # lsb_release -rd No LSB modules are available. Description:Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS Release:24.04 # apt-cache policy docker-compose-v2 docker-compose-v2: Installed: 2.24.6+ds1-0ubuntu2 Candidate: 2.24.6+ds1-0ubuntu2 Version table: *** 2.24.6+ds1-0ubuntu2 500 500 http://es.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu noble/universe amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status ``` Regards. ** Affects: docker-compose-v2 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2079929 Title: docker.io should not be a hard dependency of docker-compose-v2 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/docker-compose-v2/+bug/2079929/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1970471] [NEW] Changing applications bug 22.04LTS
Public bug reported: I have Firefox and the android studio code opened at the same time. If I am using Firefox and want to move into studio code, I press the "super" key to show all the apps running and click with my mouse the studio code app. Instead of showing ASC it keeps showing me Firefox, but not the other way around, when I am in ASC and want to change to Firefox, it does change. This only happens when using the "super" key by itself, when using "super + tab" or "alt + tab" it does change. [Bug 1884025] Re: iwlwifi not loading on kernel 5.4.0.37.40
apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected ** Description changed: I have a lenovo thinkpad E550 that has had kubuntu installed starting with 18.04, now updated to 20.04, I never had problems with wifi until last kernel update. If I boot with 5.4.0-33.37 the wireless connection acts normally, it's mostly stable and I have no major issues. If I boot with 5.4.0-37.41 there is a message like this and the wireless interface is not activated: [ 16.227170] kernel: iwlwifi :04:00.0: enabling device ( -> 0002) [ 16.227328] kernel: iwlwifi :04:00.0: HW_REV=0x, PCI issues? Hi. I have the same problem. It has appeared after updating to 19.04. I finally found out the cause for this, still no idea about a proper solution. I am using vmware horizon to connect to a windows computer, it has a funcion called usb redirection that allows you to use your usb from the windows computer. Sorry for my confusing explanations ;) I am not sure if that behavior is the intended as the phone works in a different way (also tablet until OTA10). If it is then I might have to merge this bug with: https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/1598957. [Bug 1587965] Re: [OTA11][m10] long swipe or home button doesn't "mazimize" dash
Sorry, my fault. I didn't express that right. They are not 3 gestures that don't work: those are the 3 steps you have to follow to get the bug. So, in resume, in the "app chooser" view (so, looking at all opened apps): - if you do a long left to right swipe from outside, it should go to the dash and maximize it. Now on bq m10 just stays "minimized" - if you tap on an app from the launcher already opened, it moves to the most left position but it doesn't maximize - if you tap on the launcher an app from that is closed, it maximizes the app/dash that's already opened in the far most right position. The new app opens in the background. I hope this makes some sense. I wanted to say on the last comment (I posted it before finishing) that the only strange thing is a message in the syslog saying that the device "appeared twice with different sysfs paths", might caused by me plugging/unplugging the device. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1589997 Title: The device on /dev/sdx is not created when inserting new devices To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1589997/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
