[Bug 2079929] [NEW] docker.io should not be a hard dependency of docker-compose-v2

2024-09-08 Thread Joan Bruguera Micó
Public bug reported:

Dear maintainer,

I believe that "docker-compose-v2" should not have "docker.io" as a hard
dependency, as it can be used along with other packages that provide a
Docker-compatible API, such as "podman".

Aside from the disk space use, requiring "docker.io" is also inconvenient
because:
* The Docker daemon is enabled by default as a systemd service.
* It makes it impossible to install "podman-docker" and "docker-compose-v2
simultaneously, even though they are a sensible combination.

The "docker-compose" package (v1) does not suffer from this issue as it
declares "docker.io" as a recommended dependency. I suggest doing the
same, or at least having "docker-compose-v2" require either "docker.io"
or "podman".

Below is an example showing how "docker-compose-v2" can be used with
"podman" without "docker.io" on Ubuntu 24.04.1:

```
# apt install -y podman
# apt download docker-compose-v2
# dpkg -i --ignore-depends=docker.io docker-compose-v2*.deb
# mkdir my-project && cd my-project
# cat < docker-compose.yml
services:
  netcat:
image: busybox
command: nc -lk -p 12345 -e echo 'It works!'
ports: ["12345:12345"]
EOF
# podman compose up -d
 Executing external compose provider
 "/usr/libexec/docker/cli-plugins/docker-compose". Please refer to the
 documentation for details.
[...]
# nc localhost 12345
It works!
```

System and package details:

```
# lsb_release -rd
No LSB modules are available.
Description:Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS
Release:24.04
# apt-cache policy docker-compose-v2
docker-compose-v2:
Regards.
[Bug 1970471] [NEW] Changing applications bug 22.04LTS
2022-04-26 Thread Joan Subirana
Public bug reported:
I have Firefox and the android studio code opened at the same time.
If I am using Firefox and want to move into studio code, I press the "super"
key to show all the apps running and click with my mouse the studio code app.
Instead of showing ASC it keeps showing me Firefox, but not the other way
around, when I am in ASC and want to change to Firefox, it does change.
This only happens when using the "super" key by itself, when using "super +
tab" or "alt + tab" it does change.
2020-06-18 Thread Joan
apport information
** Tags added: apport-collected
** Description changed:
  I have a lenovo thinkpad E550 that has had kubuntu installed starting with
18.04, now updated to 20.04, I never had problems with wifi until last kernel
update.
  If I boot with 5.4.0-33.37 the wireless connection acts normally, it's mostly
stable and I have no major issues.
  If I boot with 5.4.0-37.41 there is a message like this and the wireless
interface is not activated:
  [   16.227170] kernel: iwlwifi :04:00.0: enabling device ( -> 0002)
  [   16.227328] kernel: iwlwifi :04:00.0: HW_REV=0x, PCI issues?
  [   16.275802] kernel: iwlwifi: probe of :04:00.0 failed with error -5
  There are similar issue with previous releases, but none seem to have fixed
the problem, some of the more informatives (apparently it's either a kernel
issue fixed with kernel 5.6 or a firmware loaded incorrectly):
[Bug 1825499] Re: Touchpad vertical sensitivity is much higher than horizontal sensitivity [HP Pavilion g6]
2019-07-11 Thread Joan Rodríguez Bellido
Hi.
I have the same problem. It has appeared after updating to 19.04.
HP Pavilion model G6-2264sa
# 7 - I'm also using Ubuntu vanilla and Gnome Shell
# 8 - Using kernel 4.18.20 does not solve the problem.
Uninstalling xserver-xorg-input-libinput and installing xserver-xorg-
input-synaptics does not solve the problem either.
[Bug 1578803] Re: scan-view fails
2018-03-15 Thread Joan Massich
Is this still a present bug ?
I've the same behavior (with the difference that I'm using scan-
view-4.0). So adding `export PYTHONPATH=/usr/share/clang/scan-
view-4.0/share:$PYTHONPATH` to the `.zshrc` (or `.bashrc`) would do the
workaround.
[Bug 1685456] Re: Installation fails when starting to copy files
2017-04-22 Thread Joan Creus
Never mind. I managed to install it on second try. I used an old
pendrive that had 16.10, and it probably hadn't been overwritten.
I erased the pendrive, copied the 17.04 installer again, and it worked
fine.
[Bug 1589997] Re: The device on /dev/sdx is not created when inserting new devices
2017-03-09 Thread Joan
I forgot to update the thread with the solution, since vmware horizon v4.3
there is n option to easily choose what to do with the usb devices connected.
To be able to use the devices normally it's just a matter of deselecting the
devices from the menu.
This bug should be closed.
Thanks for your help
[Bug 1666873] Re: Snap icon is not visible when called from terminal but it does when called from dash
2017-02-23 Thread Joan CiberSheep
Thanks @kirofa, I have tried to change the snap to match the main name
(gtklevel9) and the apps: name and then it works. You have the icon.
Argh! I just saw what happens. I made a spelling mistake:
apps:
 g_l_klevel9:
Should be: g*t*klevel9.
Sorry
[Bug 1666873] Re: Snap icon is not visible when called from terminal but it does when called from dash
2017-02-23 Thread Joan CiberSheep
It might be a wrong yaml file config? Not matching the name of the snap
with the apps: definition.
```
 name: level9 # you probably want to 'snapcraft register '

 apps:

that make the two .desktop files to differ in one line:

level9.dektop
 `Exec=level9`

 `Exec=level9.glklevel9 %U`

[Bug 1589997] Re: The device on /dev/sdx is not created when inserting new devices

2016-09-20 Thread Joan
I finally found out the cause for this, still no idea about a proper solution.
I am using vmware horizon to connect to a windows computer, it has a funcion
called usb redirection that allows you to use your usb from the windows
computer.
It seems that when vmware horizon is open, the usb devices are redirected there
and my laptop doesn't see them, when I close it, everything works normally.
So I suppose that the issue can be closed. Thanks for your help

[Bug 1285444] Re: Login Successful, Desktop Never Loads

2016-09-19 Thread Joan Inglada Roig
A member of https://lists.ubuntu.com/ told me to rename the hidden home
subdirectory .cache to xx.cache and then reboot.

It worked to me but I have lost the history of Unity sidebar and
browsers except firefox.

If it doesn't work then he said to try the same with following other
subdirectories: .config, .gnome, .gnome2, .gnome_private2, .gconf,
.gvfs, .local

Finally, re-rename the subdirectories except the causing one.

[Bug 1589997] Re: The device on /dev/sdx is not created when inserting new devices

2016-09-13 Thread Joan
Hello again, it seems that the issue arose again, I don't know at what
point but it's still present. Apparently the kernel upgrade didn't fix
the issue, because when it appeared back on the new install I upgraded
the kernel again to current version, and it's still happening

$ uname -r
4.7.0-040700rc6-generic

About the bios upgrade, I updated it to the current version 1.25, so it
shouldn't be a problem.
What could I provide to help with the diagnostic of the issue.

[Bug 1622408] [NEW] Not being able to do 3, 4 or 5 fingers tap in bq's m10 tablet

2016-09-11 Thread Joan CiberSheep
Public bug reported:

Hi. I have tried the game in bq's E5 (no problem) but in m10 tablet is not
possible to skip intro with 4 tap.
In the game, 3 tap shows tablet window for small apps. 4 and 5 fingers tap does
nothing. So, it's not possible to save or restore :(
2 fingers tap works though.

 Importance: Undecided

** Summary changed:

- Not being able to skip intro in bq's m10 tablet

Just in case anyone needs it, the downloaded file is cached at /var/lib

blocked the site and the error page was stored here.

[Bug 1587965] Re: [OTA11][m10] long swipe or home button doesn't "mazimize" dash

2016-07-05 Thread Joan CiberSheep
*Home button also works differnet

in app spread view, pressing home button behaves as long swipe:
 - in tablet moves Today Scope to the left and keeps the spread view
 - in phone shows Today Scope in full view

in full view always shows Today Scope no matter if in a scope or app,
phone or tablet.

[Bug 1587965] Re: [OTA11][m10] long swipe or home button doesn't "mazimize" dash

2016-07-05 Thread Joan CiberSheep
Sorry for my confusing explanations ;)

I am not sure if that behavior is the intended as the phone works in a
different way (also tablet until OTA10).

If it is then I might have to merge this bug with:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/1598957.

In resume: the behavior on OTA11 is confusing for me because:
 long swipe from the left in App Spread
  -in tablet moves the app to the left (keeps app spread) and shows Today Scope.
  -in phone opens full size Today Scope

 long swipe from the left in full view
   -in tablet and phone does nothing if in any scope (except if in an Today
Scope "section", ie: if tap on Weather from Today Scope or Scope has been
opened from bottom swipe)
   -in tablet and phone shows full size Today Scope if in an app

I hope is a bit clear.

Additionally, on any scope (maximized) long swipe left to right from outside
does not go to main dash.
Tapping on home button works on any scope maximized.

[Bug 1587965] Re: [OTA11][m10] long swipe or home button doesn't "mazimize" dash

2016-07-02 Thread Joan CiberSheep
Sorry, my fault. I didn't express that right.
They are not 3 gestures that don't work: those are the 3 steps you have to
follow to get the bug.

So, in resume, in the "app chooser" view (so, looking at all opened
apps):

- if you do a long left to right swipe from outside, it should go to the
dash and maximize it. Now on bq m10 just stays "minimized"

- if you tap on an app from the launcher already opened, it moves to the
most left position but it doesn't maximize

- if you tap on the launcher an app from that is closed, it maximizes
the app/dash that's already opened in the far most right position. The
new app opens in the background.

I hope this makes some sense. I could record a video.

[Bug 1589997] Re: The device on /dev/sdx is not created when inserting new devices

2016-06-12 Thread Joan
Unfortunately I can reproduce the bug anymore, after installing 4.7rc2 the
devices appeared in my system but strangely the order was changed, so sda was
the removable disk and sdb the fixed drive, I did an dd to sdb (to create a
bootable pendrive) and screwed my system. So I'm now in a freshly installed
ubuntu (thankfully, only the first 2G where lost, so I could recover my /home/)
Feel free the close the bug as appropiate

[Bug 1442105] Re: GPS not working on my BQ Ubuntu Touch

2016-06-09 Thread Joan CiberSheep
Same behaviour here with bq Aquaris m10 (tablet). With wifi and GPS on doesn't
find position (Here, OSMScout, uNav).
Since the tablet has no 3g it makes impossible to use offline driving
directions.

Tried app Location Test with no results. I thought GPS might be broken
so I did a system check (rebooting into tablet's checking system mode)
and GPS seams to work fine but not in Ubuntu.

I wanted to say on the last comment (I posted it before finishing) that
the only strange thing is a message in the syslog saying that the device
"appeared twice with different sysfs paths", might caused by me
plugging/unplugging the device.
