[Bug 154936] Update manager: Upgrade to 7.10 fails

2007-10-20 Thread Joaquim Torres
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: update-manager

Update manager reported that I have a new version available and asks if I want
to upgrade. I choose yes and it starts upgrading. During the phase of upgrading
the software channels, it reports:
Your system is up-to-date
There are no upgrades available for your system. The upgrade will now be
canceled.
and stops the upgrade process.
If the system is up-to-date, why did it tell me I have a new version available?

The previous version is 7.10RC.

Linux MP-JT 2.6.22-14-generic #1 SMP Sun Oct 14 23:05:12 GMT 2007 i686 GNU/Linux

[Bug 154569] Wireless Conceptronic C54RC stops working after upgrade to 7.10

2007-10-19 Thread Joaquim Torres
Public bug reported:

After upgrade to Kubuntu 7.10, the wireless Conceptronic C54RC PCcard (Atheros
chip, I think) stopped working. It enables (the led turns on) and disables (the
led turns off), and in wireless assistant I can see the wireless network, but
I'm unable to connect. I removed the Wep key, and it doesn't work. Using
Wireshark, when trying to connect no message packet is detected. The card
worked fine with Kubuntu 7.04, as it did with 6.10 and 6.06.
The PC is a Compaq Presario 2541EA, with 512MB ram.
