[Bug 578361] [NEW] No Login-Screen after Update

2010-05-10 Thread Joe 'd Arc
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: lubuntu-desktop

Lubuntu updated!
After update to kernelversion 2.6.32-22 the screen-resolution doesn't match!
There is now a black screen on the notebook instead the graphical login!
Kernel 2.6.32-16 works!

WORKAROUND:
- take a rescue-cd and edit /boot/menu/grub/grub.cfg
- set default to 2 (default=2)
- and/or set the 2.-last timeout to a value > 0
Attention: this might be reseted after an following update: read the text
within grub.cfg!

** Affects: lubuntu-meta (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Bug 578018] [NEW] Lubuntu: gtk-window-decorator without function

2010-05-09 Thread Joe 'd Arc
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: compiz

Lubuntu 10.04 (updatet)
running compiz

"sometimes:"
- when logout user from desktop (means leaving the X/LXDE) and making a new
login to LXDE
- using ftp-connect within LAN with nautilus (or just using nautilus?)
the windows-decorations are missing (same after reboot!) meaning the title-bar,
and so on!

Sorry for this not clear defined actions, but I think this error appears
(with the actions described) in min. 25% of the cases.

ps -A shows gtk-window-decorator is running.

  WORKAROUND:  LXterminal ---> gtk-window-decorator
--replace&

(or: reboot, login with another user, logout, login with the first user
[works 2 times before I found the workaround])

PS: nautilus installed a ".desktop" with Name="File Manager" which
overwrites the pcmanfm! Had to chance the name inside the ".desktop" to
Nautilus!

PSS: This error appears often on the Fujitsu-Siemens-Laptop of my wife
(Lifebook C-Series 1110) but I've seen it on my Dell-Latitude-D610
(updated one week ago) too.
