[Bug 1250208] Re: `stop salt-master` causes upstart to hang
I (the debian maintainer) have been able to confirm this bug in saucy. I suspect it is due to the use of respawn in the /etc/init/salt- master.conf file. I didn't seem to be able to set the importance, but once salt is installed, shutdowns are severely delayed as the system waits for the salt-master to stop properly. ** Changed in: salt (Ubuntu) Status: New = Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1250208 Title: `stop salt-master` causes upstart to hang To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/salt/+bug/1250208/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1250208] Re: `stop salt-master` causes upstart to hang
Regarding whose side the problem is on, I'll be making this change (or very similar) to the debian packaging, which will help the next auto- sync, but I don't know how to make the change in this release (due to not being sure about uploading to ubuntu and also how to deal with a package that hangs on uninstall). Anything I can do to help, please let me know. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1250208 Title: `stop salt-master` causes upstart to hang To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/salt/+bug/1250208/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 630086] [NEW] r8192se_pci causes slowdown
Public bug reported: following an upgrade to meerkat and using the new kernel linux- image-2.6.35-19-generic, the r8192se_pci module seems to be causing the system to become very slow occasionally. removing the module makes the system return to normal. When the system is slow, based on top the load average tends to be between 3 and 10 with no obvious process using the cpu. It may be related to whether or not the batteries are being used as I have only noticed it when running on battery, but I am not 100% certain on this. I did not seem to have this problem in lucid and when running the linux- image-2.6.32-24-generic in meerkat, the problem does not seem to occur. [Bug 226058] Re: hardy heron loses keyboard after suspend
I followed the instructions at: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingKernelSuspend The first few times a did it, it worked. The last time, I left it suspended for longer and it failed to resume properly. When it resumed, the mouse was missing, and the keyboard did not work. However when I pressed the power button, the screen faded and the logoff/poweroff menu came up into the center of the screen. I could not select any of the options on this so I powered off then collected the dmesg output upon restart.
