[Bug 212364] [NEW] Alt Gr key doesn't work in Netbeans

2008-04-05 Thread Johannes Barre
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: netbeans

In Netbeans, the Alt Gr (present on many european keyboards) doesn't
work. If you want to type [ (Alt Gr + 8 on the German keyboard), just an
8 appears. This can be solved by setting an environment variable:

AWT_TOOLKIT=MToolkit

Ubuntu version: 8.04
Netbeans version: 6.0.1 (Build 080320)
Ubuntu package version: 6.0.1-0ubuntu2
JDK version: 1.6.0_05

** Affects: netbeans (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided

[Bug 139069] mysql-server should use uft-8 charset by default

2007-09-12 Thread Johannes Barre
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: mysql-server-5.0

The mysql-server uses server=latin1_swedish_ci as the default collation,
but since ubuntu uses utf-8 by default, it should be utf8_unicode_ci.
See http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.1/en/charset-server.html

[Bug 62936] Not completly translated, Strings not available in Rosetta

2006-09-29 Thread Johannes Barre
Public bug reported:

Hi!

This application is not completly translated to German, even though the
translation status in Rosetta shows 100%. Also, the Strings are not
availble for translation in Rosetta. All data on the download tab are
not translated, just the captions.

Current result:
Status: 545.1 of 683.3 MB at 375.34 KB/s
Verstrichene Zeit: 25 minutes and 55 seconds
Verbleibende Zeit: About 10 minutes

Expected result:
Status: 545,1 von 683,3 MB bei 375,34 KB/s
Verstrichene Zeit: 25 Minuten und 55 Sekunden
Verbleibende Zeit: Ungefähr 10 Minuten

I checked it with Dapper, but since the Strings in Rosetta doesn't
exists for Edgy eighter, I guess the bug exists there, too.

** Affects: gnome-btdownload (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: Unconfirmed

[Bug 56908] Re: Korean fonts won't be displayed 100% correct

2006-08-27 Thread Johannes Barre
I noticed also, that texts in latin latters (e. g. English text) encoded
with EUC-KR looks really bad. I attached a picture showing some
differences between Win XP and Ubuntu Dapper

[Bug 56908] Re: Korean fonts won't be displayed 100% correct

2006-08-19 Thread Johannes Barre
Sorry, the second problem doesnt exist in Edgy. My fault! I edited the
bug report already.

** Description changed:

- I found two strange things about displaying of Korean fonts in the
- Firefox of Dapper and Edgy. I havn't tried any other applications except
- OpenOffice (it works there), since I don't know any other apps who
- display bold texts.
-
- First, bold text is displayed exactly as a normal text, as you can see
- in the file I will attach to this report. Italic on the other hand
- works. Since Ubuntu aims to support Korean fully, I think this is quite
- important. It doesn't matter if the Korean language support is installed
- or not or if I'm logged in using Korean as the system language or not.
-
- Also I found a strange rendering at this webpage:
- http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portal:Korea - The first character in the
- headline looks really strange.
