[Bug 1422484] [NEW] Apache hangs/crash while running OwnCloud 8.0.0
Public bug reported: Upgraded to OwnCloud 8.0.0, every few hours apache and all sites becomes inaccessible. The apache service is running and I don't see any errors in the apache log or the system logs. See https://github.com/owncloud/core/issues/14175 This is running on ubuntu 14.04. This was running with no issues on Owncloud 7. When I try to access any site it just sits like the page is loading but never loads. It will sit there like that until I close the browser. No error or connection timeout. The solution was to purge php5-apcu from the system and restart apache. While there might be bugs in OwnCloud, no php website should ever be able to hang/crash the whole apache process, and it seems that there is an issue with apcu. ** Affects: php-apcu (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1422484 Title: Apache hangs/crash while running OwnCloud 8.0.0 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/php-apcu/+bug/1422484/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 313713] Re: HP LaserJet 4 Plus sometimes fails to print with v2013.111 Postscript driver
Jaunty used ghostscript as a backend for a while. While using ghostscript backend printing worked. Now they have changed back to poppler, and printing is no longer working using recommended driver. I guess it is poppler not implementing font embedding in a proper ps 2 way. Try printing documents with only one font (no bold italic or others). Those work for me. More than one font = fail. I realize my acpid-solution only works when restarting acpid from within the xsession. This is because of the dbus signal system. acpid must have the users dbus-session-bus-address to send the notification. Sorry about that. Anyway the right way of solving the brightness is still fixing the 'hal' bug, and let g-p-m do the work. g-p-m was designed to to this, and it works. [Bug 380699] [NEW] Perform unidirectional SSL/TLS shutdown on data connections
Public bug reported: This came up as the result of FileZilla releasing a new version of their client that no longer worked with ProFTPd and other FTP servers due to an adjustment in how that client reacts to TLS/SSL session closes. If the client doesn't receive proper notification, it aborts the session (this is my understanding). There has been some discussion over whether the client's interpretation and subsequent implementation of the RFC's is correct or not, but perhaps some discussion can be had here and perhaps ultimately a resolution. As it is now, FileZilla = v3.1.0 can no longer connect to ProFTPd via TLS/SSL. The upstream bug report is available at http://bugs.proftpd.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3094 The bug has been fixed upstream in proftpd v1.3.2rc2 The changeset of debian to Version: 1.3.1-14 contains this note: * [PATCH] New 3094.dpatch. Implements unidirectional shutdown of TLS/SSL sessions which is mandatory to support recent filezilla and possibly other clients. This will avoid many headaches for Filezilla =3.1 users reporting failures in connecting proftpd servers. (closes: #498136) This has been merged, so it should be fixed for Jaunty. [Bug 335447] Re: Thinkpad function key (Fn+F3) to switch off backlight no longer works
I'm not sure if that is posible, as it seems gnome-screensaver surpresses the keyevent after it has catched it. I think the problem here is that the screensaver is responsible for locking the screen, whereas the gnome-power-manager is responsible for saving power by turning dpms off. At least the screensaver should send and event to the gnome-power- manager to decide if the screen should be turned off. I think this bug does NOT concern acpi, but a combination of gnome- screensaver and gnome-power-manager! [Bug 357673] Re: No notification when sliding audio volume, muting volume, sliding LCD brightness on X31, X32, T60, R50e, T42, R52
I did a simple setup which is working for me. All collected in attached tar.gz Basicly: * enable thinkpad_acpi hotkeys * disable volume up, down, mute in HAL - I just deleted the lines * Add event to /etc/acpi/events * Simplyfied Zoltans script to use with acpi. * Letting g-p-m handle brightness events. ** Attachment added: My volume notification setup using ACPI events http://launchpadlibrarian.net/26319148/notification.tar.gz -- No notification when sliding audio volume, muting volume, sliding LCD brightness on X31, X32, T60, R50e, T42, R52 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/357673 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 357673] Re: No notification when sliding audio volume, muting volume, sliding LCD brightness on X31, X32, T60, R50e, T42, R52
Found a better way to disable hal's handling of the events Instead of editing /usr/share/hal/fdi/information/10freedesktop/30 -keymap-module-thinkpad-acpi.fdi Simply add attached hal file to /etc/hal/fdi/information. The file overrides the keymapping of thinkpad extra button. I have deleted the sound volume events. But you could easyli delete the brightness handling to. This way the acpi daemon can handle the events, and launch the notification script! ** Attachment added: thinkpad-buttons.fdi http://launchpadlibrarian.net/26323489/thinkpad-buttons.fdi -- No notification when sliding audio volume, muting volume, sliding LCD brightness on X31, X32, T60, R50e, T42, R52 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/357673 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Unpack tar to your /etc This setup notifications using acpi for both brightness and sound. [Bug 357673] Re: No notification when sliding audio volume, muting volume, sliding LCD brightness on X31, X32, T60, R50e, T42, R52
I think brightness events should be handled by gnome-power-manager. Maybe it is just a bug in there!?? My T42 handles brightness and sound in hardware. Gnome-power-manager should accept the event, show a notification, and remember the current state of brightness. I am not sure which app normally handles volume events, but I would think its a bug in there! Maybe a combination with hal not forwarding event, because it knows this stuff is handled by hardware ? I think a script is not the right way. During idle use with LVDS on (brightness as low as possible), my laptop uses between 8,3W and 8.8W. During idle with lvds turned off (DPMS off), it uses 8,4W. Measured with powertop. This means I have no real powersaving, by letting it turn off the monitor ! Normally I could win ½ hour on batter by letting dpms turn off the lvds.
