[Bug 1904162] [NEW] ACPI bios error after every reboot

2020-11-13 Thread John Berkhout
Public bug reported:

During reboot also fsck kicks in, but reports sda is clean. Don't know
if this is related to the ACPI error.

[Bug 1014622] Re: No sound at all

2012-06-22 Thread John Berkhout
Problem solved by http://askubuntu.com/questions/153602/ubuntu-12-04
-sound-only-comes-in-headphones-doesnt-come-in-inbuilt-speakers-h

This seems to be a recent issue as I have this problem also in my HP
Pavilion dv61355dx. The following is only a temporary fix to put sound
on the in-built speakers but will not send audio to the headphones (at
least in my case).

sudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf

Make sure to back up the document before modifyng it and add the next
line at the bottom of the document:

 options snd-hda-intel model=dell-m4-3 enable_msi=1

This indeed solved the issue.

[Bug 1014622] Re: No sound at all

2012-06-21 Thread John Berkhout
Followed the two sound troubleshooting guides on
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1885240 without results.
Alsamixer settings are identical between 11.10 and 12.04.

Other actions:
- booted from live CD 12.04 - sound ok
- did a fresh install of 12.04 - no sound

does someone has a clue?

Version 11.10 (on an other partition): sound works ok.
So probably a system update during the last couple of days broke it.

[Bug 1001963] [NEW] Cheese works intermittently on LTS 12.04

2012-05-20 Thread John Berkhout
Public bug reported:

Problem reproducable?
Yes, just start cheese. It displays the program window. The part where the
webcam should work is black.
Sometimes it works, but there seems te be no pattern.

** Affects: cheese (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided

[Bug 292676] Re: Thunderbird doesn't play any sound on notification

2010-04-07 Thread John Berkhout
Can some of the developers comment on the possibility of getting this
fixed. I will also post a png file with the error notification that pops
up the first time you receive a mail after you activated in preferences
the sound notification.

[Bug 521113] Re: ubuntuone reports your files are up to date but no syncing occured

2010-02-15 Thread John Berkhout
At the moment, syncing is working. I do have problems with large files
e.g. 58 MB. But I gues this is for another bugreport ;-)

This one can be closed.

[Bug 521113] [NEW] ubuntuone reports your files are up to date but no syncing occured

2010-02-12 Thread John Berkhout
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ubuntuone-client

I am using the PPA for Kubuntu made by Harald Sitter. Installed the nessecary
files through Kpackagekit. Made connection with the web interface. So far so
good.
For a short period of time I was able to sync a complecte folder with a lot of
small files by adding them to the Ubuntuone dir. Syncing a second Folder did
not work and resulted in only a few incomplete files (0 kb). The rest did not
sync at all.
Deleting these folders in the Ubuntuone dir did not result in any syncing.

I've attached the syncdeamon.log.
Hope this helps.
John
