[Bug 669326] [NEW] Vertical scrollbar becomes fixed and inoperative

2010-10-31 Thread John Karp
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: epiphany-browser

epiphany-browser 2.30.2-1ubuntu1.1
Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS (amd64)

Sometimes, a page will load with the vertical scrollbar inoperative. The
size of the slider bears no correspondence to the length of the page,
and it cannot be moved with the mouse. The page can still be scrolled
with the arrow keys and PgUp/PgDn, but the scrollbar does not change in
response.

Reloading the page generally fixes the scrollbar.

Expected behavior: the size of the slider is proportional to the height
of the viewport relative to the height of the page (as it usually is),
the slider can be moved with the mouse, and scrolling the page with the
arrow keys and PgUp/PgDn updates the scrollbar.

[Bug 209906] Re: t61 keyboard under Hardy (Fn, Menu, ThinkVantage keys)

2009-01-14 Thread John Karp
With T61 running 8.10:

'Fn' key:
keycode 151 (keysym 0x1008ff2b, XF86WakeUp)
Incorrect keycode. According to Hotkeys/Troubleshooting page, this indicates a
bug in xkeyboard-config.

'Menu' key:
keycode 151 (keysym 0x1008ff2b, XF86WakeUp)
Incorrect keycode, should map to 'Menu' keysym. Therefore, xkeyboard-config
problem.

ThinkVantage key:
No xev output.
I can't find the 'input-events' util referred to in that guide, but 'cat
/dev/input/event9', corresponding to 'ThinkPad Extra Buttons' in HAL does
produce output when the key is pressed. lshal does not show a corresponding
'input.keys' entry, and input.x11_driver = ''.
Then, according to the troubleshooting page, "this is a bug in hal or in some
desktop component that should be listening for that event via hal".

Volume control keys:
Still producing the same strange keymap events.

*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 139424 ***

I already changed the title and summary of the other bug.

The applications where I've seen this are the update notifier, and the
transmission bittorrent client, though the latter seems to have changed
its icon such that the problem no longer manifests.

I don't have/use the applications mentioned originally in the other bug
report.

you not play *any* commercial DVDs?

If its this DVD in particular, its likely because it has ARccOS copy

[Bug 247475] [NEW] Backlight brightness level reverts to default after lid re-open

I have a Lenovo T61, and I can set the backlight levels just fine with

** Summary changed:

- Some system tray icons are not visible in xfce4-panel, if the panel is set
vertical
+ Some system tray icons are not visible, or badly sized in vertical xfce4-panel

** Description changed:

In my experience Gaim's icon is visible. But XChat's not. If you set the
panel horizontal, all tray icons are visible.

Also with Claws Mail plugins, Trayicon (http://www.claws-
mail.org/plugins.php?branch=STD) is visible, but SysTrayicon of the
  Notification plugin (http://www.claws-mail.org/plugins.php?branch=EXT)

2008-06-21 Thread John Karp
I'm experiencing this with up-to-date Hardy. Has the fix gotten out yet?

[Bug 234850] Re: System tray icons sized inappropriately in vertical layout

2008-06-08 Thread John Karp
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 139424 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/139424

I am not experiencing any missing icons, so I don't see how this issue
is part of #139424, as it is currently described.

If #139424 is to include this issue, I think its title and description
should be updated accordingly, to something like "Missing and badly
sized tray icons in vertically-oriented xfce4 bar". Does anyone mind me
making such a change?

[Bug 234850] [NEW] System tray icons sized inappropriately in vertical layout

2008-05-25 Thread John Karp
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xfce4-panel

When the Xfce panel is given a vertical orientation, the system tray
plugin sizes its icons inappropriately. Scalable icons seem to be the
problem. See screenshot.

Xubuntu 8.04, Xfce 4.4.2-3ubuntu3

** Affects: xfce4-panel (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New
