nickleplated, Thanks you I missed the link somehow. 4.10.0.-25 from proposed solved the issue for me with the Gigabyte AB350 Gaming 3 with bios 7. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1671360 Title: System doesn't boot properly on Gigabyte AM4 motherboards (AMD Ryzen) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/1671360/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1671360] Re: System doesn't boot properly on Gigabyte AM4 motherboards (AMD Ryzen)
I'm using: 4.10.0-24-generic and only able to use Ubuntu with acp=off nickleplated. I'm unclear about how to fetch the versions that people are mentioning in the last few posts. Can someone clue me in on how to fetch `linux- generic-hwe-16.04-edge=4.10.0.23.16.10.0` or `4.10.0-25 from -proposed` with aptitude? Google is failing me. [Bug 810344] Re: Can't upgrade dapper to hardy
I have the same problem going from 6.06 to 8.04 LTS. Like the OP, my log shows release-upgrader adding: deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu dapper-backports main/debian- installer to: /etc/apt/sources.list.d/prerequists-sources.dapper.list which causes a subsequent 404 server error as it tries to fetch: http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/dapper-backports/main/debian- installer/binary-i386/Packages.gz which does not exist since dapper files have been moved from the archive sub domain to the old-releases sub domain. I think the file it is looking for is at: http://old-release.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/dapper-backports/main/debian- installer/binary-i386/Packages.gz If it is getting this outdated information from http://changelogs.ubuntu.com/meta-release-lts as the OP suggested, can't someone just update that page to reflect the new file location? If it is not getting it from there, can you please tell me where is is getting it from so I can manually correct it? Public bug reported: Tried installing Kubuntu Gutsy 7.10 onto a HP Pavilion a1323w. When booting from the live disc i get a [37.964147] Kernel Panic-not syncing: IO-APIC + timer doesn't work. Then i tried noapic, nolapic together and it dropped me into ramsfs(not sure if thats spelled right) command prompt, which i have no idea where to go from there. I was able to install 7.04 and tried upgrade path from 7.04 to 7.10 with Adept and it failed, leaving my system unusable. I reinstalled 7.04 which is what i'm using now.
