[Bug 973095] Re: GRUB error: "out of partition" after a kernel update

2012-04-06 Thread John O'Brien
This just started happening to me. The result it I can boot to ubuntu
(although it displayed the error message) I cannot boot my windows
partition though.

As for selecting the distribution and package, I'm pretty sure it's grub
but launchpad isn't making this easy.

We had systemic problems the other night that took a while to diagnose.
We apologise for the inconvenience.

Regarding speed of different versions, the lucid version unfortunately did have
performance issues with its sync
process. However, latest versions have significant performance improvements due
to a rewrite of the sync process. The
latest nightly builds of the client include more performance improvements.

[Bug 608011] Re: errors in syncdaemon.log

2010-07-23 Thread John O'Brien
That could be the problem, if you can go without scanning those directories
until we get this resolved, here is how to
stop syncing them.

If you have an older client, you can do the following:

Get a list of folders you have syncing by entering: u1sdtool --list-folders

This will output something like this:
Folder list:
  id=9372d400-b6b5-4f8f-b400-5ee6c96dc217 subscribed=True
path=/home/john/.ubuntuone/Purchased from Ubuntu One
  id=7197b90a-6d15-43c9-9f46-b310539d61c1 subscribed=True
path=/home/john/Documents

Using id from the output for the folder, you can stop syncing it using
the following command:

u1sdtool --delete-folder 7197b90a-6d15-43c9-9f46-b310539d61c1

I hope this helps.

[Bug 460072] Re: Ubuntu One does not synchronize

2010-04-18 Thread John O'Brien
Jonathan.

Unfortunately, the Lucid version of Ubuntu One no longer has the
notifications nor the applet that changes. So the youtube videos are
probably outdated. If you have already uninstalled it, you can reinstall
it with Synaptic Package Manager or Software Center, it's easy to find
as "Ubuntu One" in the search box. I have amd64 and didn't have any
problems installing it.

As far as the sync issues you are experienced, we are tracking these
issues down and will have them resolved soon.
