[Bug 988843] Re: remmina/rdp window turns blue or crashes gnome-shell

2012-11-21 Thread John Samuel Anderson
I experience this issue on Linux Mint 13 Maya, with the Cinnamon desktop
--this is based on Ubuntu 11.04 Precise, I believe. Remmina VNC to
Windows 7 began to cause the desktop manager to die. I had to
CTRL+ALT+F5 to get to a tty login, then kill the gnome-session process,
so I could log back in again. I found out that I could also issue
"cinnamon --replace :0" to restart the desktop manager.

I turned on the Remmina option to "Disable Tray Icon" and it seems to
work now. I had not noticed or used the tray icon before this problem
began, but that may not be conclusive evidence.

[Bug 850649] Re: gnome-terminal extremely slow and display buggy

2011-11-09 Thread John Samuel Anderson
I can confirm the problem on 11.10 32-bit. I'm running gnome-session-
fallback, without the overlay scrollbars.

Hardware: Acer Aspire laptop, Intel(R) Pentium(R) Dual CPU T3200 @ 2.00 GHz.
Display: Mobile IntelĀ® GM45 Express Chipset x86/MMX/SSE2.

I usually have 3 or 4 tabs open, with unlimited scrolling enabled. It
gets slower over time, but it's still about 2 seconds to start the very
first tab.

Of course, as soon as I posted that, I found my answer at

prevent-focus.html Anyway, I hope you have success in fixing this bug.

[Bug 865193] Re: Windows keep losing focus in Ubuntu 11.10

2011-11-02 Thread John Samuel Anderson
I'm not sure it's entirely Unity's fault. I've noticed a whole lot more
focus-stealing in gnome-session-fallback in Oneiric Ocelot. Maybe it's
related to Gnome 3?
