[Bug 1750136] [NEW] Can't move displays when changing orientation
Public bug reported: Description === What I expect to happen --- When I move the cursor to one of the displays in the display control panel and press down the left button I should be able to move the display. What actually happens - Now I have to single click on display 2 (don't know if this because it's the primary display, or simply because it got number 2 in its name) so it moves down before I can move and change display 3's orientation. See attached screencast for a demonstration of the problem. Steps to reproduce == 1. Start *Display*. 2. Try to move display 3. 3. Single click in display 2. 4. Try to move display 3 again (and succeed). [Bug 1419521] Re: LibreOffice 4.4.0.3 broke printing
Hi, This bug is currently filed against the "ubuntu-release-upgrader" package. However, you said that this bug was simply caused by upgrading LibreOffice and not changing Ubuntu releases. I am changing this bug to the "libreoffice" package. If this is a mistake and this bug was caused by upgrading your system and not necessarily upgrading LibreOffice alone, this is likely still caused by the newer version of LibreOffice. If you're sure this was caused by a system upgrade, feel free to change the package back to "ubuntu-release-upgrader" and post logs related to your upgrade. Also, what desktop environment and Ubuntu version are you using? [Bug 1379137] [NEW] Black bars appear where text should be
Public bug reported: Sometimes if you go to a website with special text formatting, instead of text, you will see black and gray bars where the text should be. If you select the text with your mouse, it often becomes visiable again, but returns to a bar when you stop selecting. [Bug 1078937] [NEW] pgpool2 cannot start after reboot
Public bug reported: 1) The release of Ubuntu you are using, via 'lsb_release -rd' or System -> About Ubuntu Description:Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS Release:12.04 2) The version of the package you are using, via 'apt-cache policy pkgname' or by checking in Software Center pgpool2: Installed: 3.1.1-1 Candidate: 3.1.1-1 Version table: *** 3.1.1-1 0 500 http://mirror.rackspace.com/ubuntu/ precise/universe amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 3) What you expected to happen pgpool2, like all other long-running services, should automatically start after a reboot. 4) What happened instead pgpool2 fails to restart after reboot because the /var/run/postgresql directory is missing. From /var/syslog: Nov 14 20:51:57 test-app pgpool: 2012-11-14 20:51:57 ERROR: pid 1300: could not open pid file as /var/run/postgresql/pgpool.pid. reason: No such file or directory This is a regression of a bug that was addressed years ago but apparently wasn't fixed upstream, so it's been reintroduced (see => https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pgpool2/+bug/314837). The /etc/init.d/pgpool2 script needs to follow convention and source /usr/share/postgresql-common/init.d-functions which internally ensures /var/run/postgresql exists. However, if you call `/etc/init.d/pgpool2 start`, this internally calls 'd_start()', so the 'start()' function in the init.d-functions is never called, so in this case it's not as simple as just sourcing the common init.d-functions. For now I've monkey- patched /etc/init.d/pgpool2's d_start() function: d_start() { if is_running; then : else # create socket directory if [ -d /var/run/postgresql ]; then chmod 2775 /var/run/postgresql else install -d -m 2775 -o postgres -g postgres /var/run/postgresql fi su -c "$DAEMON -n $OPTS 2>&1 /dev/null 2>&1 &" - postgres fi } Here are the minimum steps to reproduce on a new install: root@test-app:~# apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade && sudo apt-get install pgpool2 The following extra packages will be installed: libpgpool0 libpq5 postgresql-client-common postgresql-common ssl-cert root@test-app:~# ls /var/run/postgresql/ pgpool.pid root@test-app:~# reboot root@test-app:~# ls /var/run/postgresql/ ls: cannot access /var/run/postgresql/: No such file or directory ** Affects: pgpool2 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1078937 Title: pgpool2 cannot start after reboot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pgpool2/+bug/1078937/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

If I can get a patch working for the init script (cribbing from the /etc/init.d/postgresql-8.3 script) I'll attach that. Edit: I thought that since I was posting the bug from the /ubuntu/intrepid/ page that it would automatically note that I'm using Intrepid, but in case it's not obvious, I'm using the default pgpool2 v1.3-2 with Intrepid Server. -- pgpool does not create run /var/run/postgresql directory on reboot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/314837 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 314837] [NEW] pgpool does not create run /var/run/postgresql directory on reboot
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: pgpool I'm a running pgpool2 on an application server which does not itself run PostgreSQL server (the server is on a separate machine). [Bug 185795] Re: Ark compression with dolphin bad configured.
There isn't even an 'Action' context menu in 8.10. So we have even less functionality available in 8.10. The only context menu relevant is 'Open With...', and when you dig through the applications to indicate 'Ark', it just opens Ark but Ark is just blank, completely ignorant of the files you tried to pass in. Nice. -- Ark compression with dolphin bad configured. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/185795 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 57914] xorg crashes when viewing long text lines
Public bug reported: This happens to me frequently while using firefox (w/web developer extension). For a concrete and specific way to recreate...if you use firefox w/web developer extension, navigate to plone.org. Then click on the web developer toolbar 'Information' -> 'View JavaScript'. Scroll down and your x server will restart. No error messages are displayed and I don't see any relevant messages in Xorg.0.log. All unsaved data is lost. This also happens if I copy a long single line of text into an html form (again using firefox). I've seen other bug reports mention gedit and gtkTextView have problems with long text lines (for example, Bug #37511), but these seem to mostly be speed issues, not complete x server crashes. Just to test, I used wget to grab the javascript file that causes the crash and gedit displays it without any problems (there is on long line in the middle of the javascript). I'm not really sure which package is the culprit in my situation, so I didn't quite know where to post this. Also, if there are other logs I should look at and post here, let me know. ** Affects: Ubuntu Importance: Untriaged Status: Unconfirmed -- xorg crashes when viewing long text lines https://launchpad.net/bugs/57914 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
