[Bug 1579424] [NEW] Add more fields to RSS feed description
Public bug reported: Currently, the description for an episode in the RSS feed contains simply the description stored in MythTV. I would like to enhance it to contain more information, such as: Show title Episode title Channel Recording time Episode number for example. Maybe other things could be added, such as the name of the mythexport config file which was used. Or the length of the file, both in megabytes and in time, if that's possible to determine. Although the show title and episode title are already included in the RSS feed of course, depending on one's podcast player, they can get truncated, so it would be good to add them to the description. I suggest that this additional info should be added *after* the existing description, so as to not annoy people who expect to see that at the top, or in case their podcast manager shows a snippet of the description when browsing episodes. This would require changes in mythexport-daemon. ** Affects: mythexport Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: mythexport (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: mythexport (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1579424 Title: Add more fields to RSS feed description To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mythexport/+bug/1579424/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1578387] Re: Mythexport creates files with wrong permissions
I have worked around this by adding: system("chmod 666 \'$self->{_outputFile}$self->{_extension}\'"); after the ffmpeg line in the .pm file in the configs folder. This seems inelegant but does work. [Bug 1075791] Re: Fails to create a video with MythTV 0.26
I suggest this bug be renamed something like "Changes required for UTC times in MythTV 0.26 and higher. I can confirm that changing %STARTTIME% to %STARTTIMEUTC% in the user job (which is created in the setupsave.cgi file) fixes the problem. A knock on effect is that, for episodes with no subtitle where the time is put into the subtitle instead (in mythexportRSS.cgi) the time is UTC instead of local time, so the times don't match the user's expectations of clock time. I'm not enough of a perl expert to know how to fix that. Also, if compatibility with MythTV versions older than 0.26 are desired, a check of the DBSchema value should presuambly be in place. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1075791 Title: Fails to create a video with MythTV 0.26 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mythexport/+bug/1075791/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1038439] Re: RSS feed always uses video/mpeg, even for MP3s
Having looked at the code some, I can think of a couple of ways to handle this. The first would be to add an attribute (sorry if that isn't the correct perl terminology) like the existing "extension" one to the config .pm files. It could be called mimetype, and could default to "video/mpeg" in the base config, and be overridden to "audio/mpeg" in MP3.pm or similar. This value could be read by mythexport-daemon, and stored in the mythexport database table next to the other recording details, read later by mythexportRSS.cgi, and output to the RSS feed in the appropriate place. I do realise the would be changing the schema of the table, which can be awkward. As old rows in the table would have this column NULL, mythexportRSS.cgi could default to video/mpeg in such cases. If changing the schema is undesired, I assume it is possible to look up, at runtime in mythexportRSS.cgi, a suitable MIME type from a file extension from somewhere. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1038439 Title: RSS feed always uses video/mpeg, even for MP3s To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mythexport/+bug/1038439/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1578387] Re: Mythexport creates files with wrong permissions
I have been looking into this more, and it looks like a umask issue. By adding debugging output to /usr/bin/mythexport-daemon, I see that the umask is fine until the startDaemon call, at which point it's set to 066. Presumably it is this that is creating the files with the permissions they have. startDaemon called Proc::Daemon::Init, and looking at documentation for that, apparently it is normal behaviour to set the umask so. What I don't know is exactly why this has changed between 12.04 and 14.04. I can't see much changes is the mythexport package between the two, but it may have been a change in Perl or Ubuntu. If desired, I can show a list of all packages (including version numbers) that changed on my system between 12.04 and 14.04. And I have a backup of my 12.04 system I could roll back to if anyone wants to troubleshoot. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1578387 Title: Mythexport creates files with wrong permissions To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mythexport/+bug/1578387/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 648451] Re: Exported shows are allowed to be exported again
Also, initially exporting to a temporary folder and only moving to the destination folder when fully exported, would have advantages not just for RSS users. For example, someone using an rsync client or some other method of syncing files from the normal export folder would be able to safely perform their folder sync operation at almost any time without having to worry that they might download partially-exported files. This would only work if exporting to a temp folder initially, not if exporting to the normal export folder but with a .tmp filename. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/648451 Title: Exported shows are allowed to be exported again To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mythexport/+bug/648451/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 648451] Re: Exported shows are allowed to be exported again
Being able to re-export the same program, for example after editing a config, is a useful feature and I would prefer to *not* see it blocked. But Steve's problem is a genuine one. Usually the exported program is not added to the RSS feed until after the export is completed, and so an RSS client wouldn't download a half- exported program. In Steve's case, the problem was that, because he had already previously exported the program, it was already in his RSS feed, and when he set it to export again, it started overwriting the same file, and there is a few minutes window (depending on how long the export takes) when an RSS client could attempt to download the file in a half-finished state. Regarding a solution, I wonder if a good fix would be to initially export the program to a temporary folder, or to the normal export folder but with a different filename, e.g. ending in ".tmp". Only when the program has completely finished exporting is the file moved to the normal export folder, or renamed to remove the .tmp, overwriting the previously-exported file if it exists. This would reduce the window when it was possible to download a half-exported program from a few minutes to just a few seconds.
[Bug 997569] Re: Cannot pycompile python-qt4
After a lot of debugging of the pycompile code, I've finally realised that this was caused by a local problem. One of my python-qt4 files (/usr/share/pyshared/PyQt4/uic/Loader/loader.py) was corrupt - it was a binary file rather than a text file, which caused pycompile to fail.
