[Bug 1928414] Re: Ubuntu 21.04 mono-devel_6.8.0.105+dfsg-3_all.deb install failed
Hi, I am the initial uploader of the discodos package. I'd like to remove it from the Debian and Ubuntu repositories entirely to not only solve this issue but also because I don't have the resources to maintain the Debian package anyway. [Bug 1754294] Re: After last updated libcurl3 on libcurl4, some apps are removed.
I have done much packaging back in my days in AIX. This looks to be a simple case of one dependency to break them all - libxmltooling7 (see #54 & #62, above). However looks can be deceiving. For the complexity, see: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=828607#49 The details for libxmltooling supporting OpenSSL 1.1 appears to be fixed below. https://issues.shibboleth.net/jira/browse/CPPXT-110 There is still the issue of release. However, there are other pieces that need to fall in line. https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=859829 https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=859831 I do not envy the ladies and gents that have to make this library soup palatable to all, it is often exhausting, seemingly thankless and involves much waiting on others. Yes, it is broken, but not because of Canonical. In a way, I blame myself a bit since a release upgrade test of 16.04 or clean install of a shib-ed web server using the beta release during implementation of libcurl4 (prior to Bionic's official release) would have revealed breaking of Shib2 SP and this could have been posted to the release notes. Of course, like most, my hindsight is rather sharp. ** Bug watch added: Debian Bug tracker #828607 https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=828607 ** Bug watch added: Debian Bug tracker #859829 https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=859829 ** Bug watch added: Debian Bug tracker #859831 https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=859831 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1754294 Title: After last updated libcurl3 on libcurl4, some apps are removed. [Bug 1754294] Re: After last updated libcurl3 on libcurl4, some apps are removed.
We are in the process of migrating our Apache web servers from 14.04 to 18.04. Seems this will be impossible since the libcurl problem makes Shibboleth authentication in Apache non-existent. All of the dependencies are Universe packages (not 3rd party). Essentially, anyone wanting SAML2 SSO access controls in Apache has to fall back to 16.04. Bionic is effectively broken. root@webdev:/etc/apache2/sites-available# apt install libapache2-mod-shib2 Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... [Bug 1734541] [NEW] encrypted home-directory is not unmounted on logout
Public bug reported: Current Situation: If you log out from an user account with an encrypted home directory, it is not automatically unmounted and encrypted again. Expected behaviour: If I log out from an user account with an encrypted home directory, Id expect the homedir to be unmounted and encrypted again. Stepts to reproduce: log into an account with encrypted home directory. (lets call it: user) Log out again log into another account (which has sudo rights, lets call it: user2) and now enter the following into a terminal: user2@ubuntu: sudo su user2@ubuntu: ls -la /home/user you can see the files of the user Reasons: This is a security issue, because as a user you can reasonable expect your data to be safe, if you log out. if you would simply log in as another user but keep your data accessable you would simply switch user, instead of loggin out. Many users only suspend their laptop while carrying it with them. Logging out and suspending the user expects to have at least the home directory encrypted. Public bug reported: Changes on the backlight do not have effect. Only possibility to change the backlight is to boot OS X, change the backlight there and boot back into Ubuntu. The bug is also discribed here: https://forum.ubuntuusers.de/topic /helligkeit-anpassen/ (german Website) I followed this guide to produce the bug-report: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/Debugging/Backlight On this website the problem I have is also discribed: "Backlight control does not work, but there are entries in /sys/class/backlight. This may require the ACPI backlight driver to not take control so that a vendor specific driver will have a chance to register (see below)." [Bug 664006] Re: LM 10 RC uses over 200mb RAM
@Fabio: The problem with Audio is that whenever I play any multimedia file, the sound comes from both the speakers and the headphones. Speakers won't mute on plugging in the headphones. But this was existing in LM9 and Ubuntu 10.10Netbook too. But works fine with Windows XP. So thought, the problem was with linux audio drivers. Also I wasn't sure how to report bugs to ALSA developers. Do you want me to post any other attachment? [Bug 664006] Re: LM 10 RC uses over 200mb RAM
I see all the points that Clem says. But indeed, further testing of LM10 RC also gives some more interesting facts. Although the system uses around 200MB at the start up, every program I open adds up to the memory and it won't come down even if I close it. For instance, if at startup, my memory reads 200mb, I open chromium and use it for an hour, the meter goes up by 300mb, I close chromium, the meter still stays at 300mb and I open Rhythmbox, it goes further. So it will ultimately go up to around 700mb at which the system would become very slow and then I have to log off and login. It goes back to 200mb. This is consistent. Considering this, I would still believe its a valid bug. -- LM 10 RC uses over 200mb RAM https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/664006 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
