[Bug 738526]

2015-09-19 Thread Jon TURNEY
Thanks for taking a look at this.

This appears to fix my testcase above, so Tested-by:

I don't know if this is likely to regress bug #3040, or how to test
that.

this kind of problem.

[Bug 744592] Re: musictracker isnt detecting banshee tunes

2011-03-28 Thread Jon TURNEY
Please check your expectations against http://code.google.com/p/pidgin-
musictracker/wiki/FAQ#1

Can you confirm that the bug exists when you use the banshee version
provided by Ubuntu in Maverick (1.8.1)?

If you still think there is a problem, can you attach at pidigin debug
log (from PIdgin Help/Debug Window or run pidgin -d). You may wish to
remove or obscure your IM contact details to keep them private.

How often does pidgin hang when musictracker is enabled? Only when you do some

Can the hang be correlated with something being written to pidgin's debug log?

I'm guessing (it's a little hard to be sure) that this has the same
underlying cause as the upstream issue http://code.google.com/p/pidgin-
musictracker/issues/detail?id=106, so should be fixed upstream in 0.4.15

[Bug 199438] Re: Musictracker doesn't work unless dcopserver is started

2009-04-03 Thread Jon TURNEY
@canapone: thanks for the 'pidgin -d' output.

Does 'then i enable plugin and pidgin zombies' mean than pidgin hangs
after writing that output?

You need to show that this doesn't occur when dcopserver is running for
this to be the same problem as originally reported (this seems unlikey)

Looking at the second attachment, I would suggest disabling the pidgin
nautilus integration plugin [nautilus-sendto package] as it seems to be
known to cause crashes like that...

[Bug 242137] Re: pidgin-musictracker should allow status messages when music has stopped

2009-01-26 Thread Jon TURNEY
I've created an upstream bug for the behaviour described by 2(b) at
http://code.google.com/p/pidgin-musictracker/issues/detail?id=92

This is now fixed upstream and it should show up in my PPA tomorrow if
you would like to test it.

[Bug 242137] Re: pidgin-musictracker should allow status messages when music has stopped

2009-01-21 Thread Jon TURNEY
Thanks for the screencast, very helpful in understanding what you are
seeing. Thank you for taking the time to make it.

I think there are a few issues interacting here leading to what you are
seeing:

1) You are only pausing the player, not stopping it. I think the only
way rhythmbox can get into the stopped state is to arrive at the end of
your play queue.

2) When the player is paused, musictracker (a) generates a personal
status message according to the paused format configured, (b)
continues to set the now playing status with the paused track
information

3) Pidgin displays the personal status message under the contact, but
when the personal status message is empty, pidgin now displays the now
playing status (if the contact has one) [this is a relatively recent
change, although I'm not sure exactly what version it happened in]

If you experiment with turning off and on musictracker's Don't change
status message if protocol has 'now listening' setting or set a status
message on that contact, and hover the mouse over the contact in the
paused state and look at the tooltip, it might make it a bit clearer
what is going on

2(b) is probably a bug, I'll have a think about how to fix that :-)

[Bug 242137] Re: pidgin-musictracker should allow status messages when music has stopped

2009-01-20 Thread Jon TURNEY
Ezra, I'm confused

OK, that's fine. It won't change when the Stopped/Off message is blank
in the current version.

Does this mean it does or doesn't revert to the status message set in
the pidgin UI? Does 'current' there mean 0.4.1?

Yes. In Jaunty, pidgin-musictracker 0.4.12-1 displays the last song
played after (for example) Rhythmbox is closed.

This a different problem if it's not even going to the 'stopped/off'
message when the player is closed. Can you attach an excerpt from the
pidgin debug log (pidgin -d or Help/Debug Widow) showing this problem?
(You may wish to sanitize the debug log if it contains your IM account
names)
