[Bug 1782510] Re: lightdm automatically logs in after logout

2018-08-01 Thread Jonas Sundman
After the second login, the session is not comlete, e.g. groups from
pam+ldap are missing. Also the default KDE Wallet is not opened upon the
first successful login. sddm works as expected.

[Bug 1359689] Re: cryptsetup password prompt not shown

2016-09-30 Thread Jonas Sundman
Workarounds using a text boot works, but is quite ugly. If having
multiple encrypted disks each needs to be separately unlocked (plymouth
feeds the first password to the following ones). Also the password
prompts either not visible or aligned to a very far right which makes it
hard to notice when to strart typing your passwords.

My results so far:

 * the newest kernel to load is 4.2.5-wily where the issue persists

Is 4.2.5 to be interpreted as an upstream kernel?

Thank you for your instructions.

However, I see no change after upgrading the BIOS.

$ sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date
A13 09/02/2015

At short, after returning from suspend the touchpad, all touchpad and
glidestick actions are stuck to the window which was active before
suspend or a window or panel selected immediately (less than a second)
after the desktop is displayed after the login screen.

[Bug 1489050] Re: Option -servername not described in manpage

2015-08-27 Thread Jonas Sundman
Thank you for the fix.

Just for the completeness, the manpage for s_client does not mention
some other options too, which the command itself reports in its usage
message eg. -srp* and -keymatexport*. These seem to be missing in
upstream man pages as well
(https://www.openssl.org/docs/man1.0.1/apps/s_client.html).

[Bug 896375] Re: lightdm does ignore session selection first time non local user is choosen

2012-03-28 Thread Jonas Sundman
I can confirm the same behaviour (on two different machines) with
accounts from ldap and selecting Gnome in lightdm.

On every reboot regardless of the selection in lightdm a Unity (default)
session is launched. On subseqent logins the requested Gnome session is
launchen.

In lightdm.log
[+42.89s] DEBUG: Greeter requests session ubuntu
[+42.89s] DEBUG: Using session ubuntu
[+43.04s] DEBUG: Stopping greeter

[+144.73s] DEBUG: Greeter requests session gnome-shell
[+144.73s] DEBUG: Using session gnome-shell
[+144.74s] DEBUG: Stopping greeter

Also in the greeter if I select Other..., select Gnome, type my username
and press enter, then the selection is reverted to Unity in the password
dialog.

2011-10-18 Thread Jonas Sundman
Like #18 ran into this when updating to maverick. As both occured in
VMware guest installations I suspect that in that specific case vmware-
tools caused the incomplete transition.

I also saw messed up shutdown orders, but not in all installations. You
may also have a look at rc0.d for halting.
