[Bug 1940746] [NEW] Annotation area covers complete lines on wrapped annotations

2021-08-21 Thread Jonatan Zeidler
Public bug reported:

Details can be found in the original bug report that has been closed
because it does not affect upstream (anymore):
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/evince/-/issues/1648

This affects evince 3.36.10 on Ubuntu 20.04. This does not affect the
evince snap package which is version 40.4.

[Bug 1866985] [NEW] libproj9 does not allow installation in foreign architecture

2020-03-11 Thread Jonatan Zeidler
Public bug reported:

Steps to reproduce:

sudo dpkg --add-architecture armhf
sudo apt update
sudo apt install libproj9:armhf

Or in a more realistic scenario when doing cross-compiling in a docker
container through Clickable. Install Clickable¹ and then try this little
example project:

git clone https://gitlab.com/jonnius/proj-demo.git
cd proj-demo
clickable build -a armhf

Error:

apt-get fails to install libproj9:armhf with the following error
message:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
libproj9:armhf : Depends: proj-data:armhf but it is not installable

The package proj-data is architecture independent. libproj9 should not
claim that it depends on proj-data:armhf but rather proj-data:all or
simply proj-data so it could be installed. Seems like a packaging issue
to me.

OS: Ubuntu 16.04

What exactly do you mean by "unable to login"? When I try to login with
GDM the monitor turns simply black. Another observation is that I cannot
switch to tty neither from that black screen nor from GDM before.

[Bug 1366418] Re: Bluetooth BCM43142A0 doesn’t work

2017-12-28 Thread Jonatan Zeidler
I solved the same issue on Ubuntu 17.10 Acer Aspire E5. There is a repo with a
lot of BT Firmware ready to use:
https://github.com/winterheart/broadcom-bt-firmware/tree/master/brcm
It may be necessary to rename the file to make it work. You can find out with
the following command:

$ dmesg | grep bluetooth
[ 12.314809] bluetooth hci0: Direct firmware load for brcm/BCM.hcd failed with
error -2

If you get a similar line, you need to rename the firmware
(/lib/firmware/brcm/BCM.hcd in this case).

[Bug 1448836] Re: Bluetooth doesn't find any device

2017-12-27 Thread Jonatan Zeidler
Amr Ibrahim is right. I downloaded the missing file from
https://github.com/winterheart/broadcom-bt-
firmware/blob/master/brcm/BCM43142A0-04ca-2009.hcd and renamed it to
/lib/firmware/brcm/BCM.hcd. Now bluetooth works fine. Can't this file be
added to Ubuntu so that not everyone needs to do this manually? Or is it
a licence issue?

Btw, this seems to be a duplicate of
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bluez/+bug/1366418.

[Bug 1592833] Re: Some accented characters have zero-width

2016-06-24 Thread Jonatan Zeidler
** Description changed:

Some characters in the Cantarell font, e.g., å, ê, and ü, have zero
width in version 0.0.21-1. This makes them display incorrectly and
overlap other letters. According to the Debian bug
  https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=822762 the issue has
been fixed in version 0.0.24-1. Could we please get this version in
Xenial so my name can be shown correctly?
+
+ [Impact]
+ The bug effects users of languages that make use of accents and umlauts. This
includes at least German and French. All users that use Ubuntu GNOME 16.04 with
the default font Cantarell in one of the effected languages will see "display
errors" in words that contain one of the effected letters as they are overlayed
by other letters. This effects at least Firefox and the gnome tweak tool.
+
+ [Test Case]
+ Install Ubuntu GNOME 16.04 and select French as language. Open The gnome
tweak tool. The label on the Fonts menu ("Fenêtres") is not beeing displayed
correctly. In addition you may open Firefox and navigate to a page that
contains such a letter in its title (e.g.
https://forum.ubuntuusers.de/topic/umlaut-ue-ue-in-firefox-ueberschneidet-sich-mi/).
You will see the issue on the tab label.
+
+ [Regression Potential]
+ I can hardly see a regression potential by upgrading the GNOME default Font.
Same in the Debian project:
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=822762.

As a workaround you may install the fonts-cantarell package manually
from the yakkety repo. To get this fixed in xenial we need to follow the
procedure described here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates

[Bug 902090] [NEW] Cannot upload big Files in Ubuntu One

2011-12-09 Thread Jonatan Zeidler
Public bug reported:

I try do upload a 3GB-file on my Ubuntu One Account. But it does not work
neighter with the website nor with the ubuntuone-client. In both cases the
upload starts, but will not come to an end. I can see, that at the beginning
something like 200KiB/s are beeing uploading, but after a while the upload is 0
Bytes/s. So small files are no problem. Only big ones.
OS: Ubuntu 11.10 (Gnome-shell)
ubuntuone-client: 2.0.0-0ubuntu2.2

** Affects: ubuntuone-client (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
