[Bug 1240585] Re: No sound after upgrade to image 99
** Description changed: Today I upgraded to image 99 and no sound worked in the music and settings app (testing phone sounds). Rebooted multiple times and same issue. I saw the indicator and volume control as expected, and ensured it was up. When putting my phone up to my ear I also heard light crackling from the speaker. I then called my phone to test if calls could be heard and it worked as expected, and then the music app worked fine. It seemed to unblock the sound. ogre seems to think it is something to do with transitioning between sound profiles and asked me to file a bug. :-) + + Update: before I had this issue I had to hang up while on a call, so + that may be the cause. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1240585 Title: No sound after upgrade to image 99 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pulseaudio/+bug/1240585/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1182734] Re: Slide out toolbar should be displayed by default on the desktop (swiping is difficult)
>From what I can tell the current solution to this bug is that the toolbar is hidden and when the mouse enters the region of where the toolbar exists a hint is displayed and the user will drag out the toolbar. If this is the recommended approach I think we are making a mistake. I think this doesn't make sense for two reasons: 1. Historically desktop applications show toolbars by default; it is unintuitive for a user to have to pull out a toolbar to make use of it. I understand the rationale here on the phone as we use the edges, but we don't use the edge of the desktop screen on the desktop as we are using windows. 2. Having to pull out the toolbar everytime you need to use it is going to get rather frustrating rather quickly. It also requires a special level of mouse dexterity as the 1GU area is quite narrow to pull out the toolbar. Can the design team provide some rationale about why we don't simply display the toolbar by default? ** Tags added: sdk-app-desktop-integration -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1182734 Title: Slide out toolbar should be displayed by default on the desktop (swiping is difficult) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-ui-toolkit/+bug/1182734/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I think this is a better way of displaying it: jono@forge:~$ juju status Overview: [All services started] wordpress/0: ec2-54-226-44-116.compute-1.amazonaws.com wordpress/1: ec2-54-226-44-116.compute-1.amazonaws.com mysql: ec2-54-226-45-46.compute-1.amazonaws.com Topology: mysql/0 --|-- wordpress/0 |-- wordpress/1 Machines: "0" (i-d5db6fbf) [STARTED] Version:1.10.0 DNS:ec2-107-22-102-86.compute-1.amazonaws.com Series: precise "1" (i-74500d1c) [STARTED] Version:1.10.0 DNS:ec2-54-226-44-116.compute-1.amazonaws.com Series: precise "2" (i-5a500d32) [STARTED] Version:1.10.0 DNS:ec2-54-226-45-46.compute-1.amazonaws.com Series: precise "3" (i-5a500d32) [STARTED] Version:1.10.0 DNS:ec2-54-226-15-107.compute-1.amazonaws.com Series: precise The 'Overview' section tells me if everything is up and where to access my things. The 'Topology' section makes it clear that everything is connected. The 'Machines' section gives me details about the individual machines, but I re-formatted these to highlight the status (I put all status indications in square brackets in this mock-up). I would strongly recommend we display this (or another improved) simplified status as the default and show the detail with -v. [Bug 1182905] [NEW] charm-tools requires extra environments.yaml config
Public bug reported: This is what happened to me: * Configured environments.yaml for AWS. * I bootstrapped Juju, deployed wordpress and mysql and related them. I exposed wordpress and hit it in the browser. It worked. Woo! * While doing this I decided to install charm-tools * Now when I use Juju it errors requiring me to configure additional parts of environments.yaml Now, at first it only required me to configure a default-series for each provider, which is a no-brainer, but then it asked for maas-oauth config. This completely stopped me in my tracks. I don't care about the other providers as I have already got my AWS provider configured and up and running, and it put Juju in a position where it stopped working for me due to the missing configuration. [Bug 1083790] [NEW] Connecting external monitor shows incorrect resolution on external screen and correct resolution on laptop screen
Public bug reported: I have a Lenovo T520 and a Samsung LED monitor running in dual-monitor mode (not mirrored). I also use an IOGEAR 2 Port USB Cable KVM Switch with Audio and Mic (GCS72U) to share the screen with another machine, although it is almost always just selecting the Lenovo laptop with the screen. When I am using the laptop without the external monitor everything looks great, but then when I plug the external monitor in the resolution on the monitor is incorrect and is low resolution as well as the top panel being cut off a little (see the attached screenshot). The resolution on the laptop screen is correct and the dual monitor setting is correct (external screen on the left, laptop screen on the right). If I then load the displays applet in the Settings, the external monitor switches to the correct resolution without me clicking on anything in the displays applet (just loading it fixes the resolution). I also noticed today that if I plug in the external monitor (and thus see the incorrect resolution) and leave it without going to the displays applet, if I leave it for around 3 - 5 mins it will automatically switch to the correct resolution without me doing anything. [Bug 1046840] Re: [UIFE][FFE] Install Amazon and Ubuntu One Music Store webapp items in the launcher by default
Jeremy, I think you have every right to be frustrated that this landed after the Feature Freeze. From what I understand the reasons for this were some staffing and technical issues, but the team felt the feature would be valuable and useful for Ubuntu users and also generate revenue to help support investment in the project. To compensate for it being added late, we are pursuing further testing (Nicholas Skaggs will be coordinating further manual testing) and Olli has assured us that his team will be responsible in fixing and resolving issues. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1046840 Title: [UIFE][FFE] Install Amazon and Ubuntu One Music Store webapp items in the launcher by default To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/webapps-applications/+bug/1046840/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1036455] Re: GTK Rendering Issue (potentially a ScrolledWindow problem)
Thanks for your efforts on this, Robert. I tested your new branch and it works correctly here using the GtkGrid. There may stay be a bug present though due to the original program I wrote displaying so differently on Precise and on Quantal. Strangely, when I used your code in my Ubuntu Accomplishments code to resolve the issue, I still get space between the sections that I don't want. It looks like this: http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8302/7786197856_bfef3f7aa9_b.jpg The branch is at lp:~jonobacon/ubuntu-accomplishments-viewer/spacingfix and you can see the code for where the section is added at http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~jonobacon/ubuntu-accomplishments- viewer/spacingfix/view/head:/accomplishments_viewer/AccomplishmentsViewerWindow.py#L330 - the glade file uses the same settings as in your demo. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1036455 Title: GTK Rendering Issue (potentially a ScrolledWindow problem) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gtk+3.0/+bug/1036455/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1036489] [NEW] Closing Rhythmbox doesn't close Rhythmbox and causes confusing key-binding behavior
Public bug reported: This is a problem I am experiencing in Quantal right now. Here is how to trigger it: 1. I load Pithos and start listening to music. My track change and start/pause key-bindings work great. 2. I load Rhythmbox to listen to a song on my computer. I stop Pithos playing and start playing Rhythmbox. 3. With two media players open my key-bindings only seem to apply to one player, so I close Rhythmbox (clicking the X in the window). 4. The window is not actually closed and my key-bindings still affect Rhythmbox - this is confusing as I see no icon on my Launcher. [Bug 1036455] [NEW] GTK Rendering Issue (potentially a Scrolled problem)
Public bug reported: While hacking on Ubuntu Accomplishments I have noticed some strange behavior with GTK. We added support to add a series of nested widgets, one of which is an IconView, and we are getting different rendered output on Precise and on Quantal. To make this easier to demonstrate, I wrote lp:~jonobacon/+junk/gtkissue - if you download this and run 'quickly run' to run it, you will see this on Precise: http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7115/807764_2849c23d1a_o.png And you will see this on Quantal: http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8288/814982_8ea437111b_o.png It looks like on Quantal the the policy for scrolling is being interpreted incorrectly and the horizontal scrollbar is being rendered. The expected behavior is what I see on Precise. [Bug 1031197] [NEW] DownloadFinished signal triggers when file has not yet completed writing
Public bug reported: I am experiencing a problem where I connect a callback to DownloadFinished which then loads the file that has been downloaded. Unfortunately this is failing even though I can see the file on the disk - as such it looks like the signal triggers a short time before the file has completed writing. >From what I understand the file is copied to a temp dir and then moved and it seems this signal triggers when the file hits the temp dir. Can you fix this so that it triggers when the file is successfully written to its final path? Thanks! [Bug 965492] Re: Dash home results take too long to appear
@David - I am not sure I would agree. I think most users (bearing in mind I have done no user testing)...will click the Ubuntu button as soon as they have started their desktop, as that is where they find their apps, files, music, video and other content. Given that the user should rarely need to boot, I would personally prefer if we take the hit on boot time to deliver a fast dash experience when they click on the button. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/965492 Title: Dash home results take too long to appear To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ayatana-design/+bug/965492/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 965505] [NEW] Scrollbars in the dash don't have wide enough click region
Public bug reported: In the current Unity in Precise, you need an unreasonable amount of accuracy to click the scroll bars. [Bug 954281] [NEW] Rhythmbox hangs regularly
Public bug reported: I have noticed that Rhythmbox has been hanging regularly. I run Rhythmbox with cross-fading and album art switched on. To see if I could nail down the issue, I ran Rhythmbox with debug messages switched on. When it hung I saw the usual flurry of tick_cb messages and then some other output.
