[Bug 836480] Re: CPU fan runs very very fast ubuntu 11.10 dell xpsl702x
I can confirm with the latest kernel, and it seems to be an issue with the free radeon driver as when switching to fglrx there are no issues. Note it's the CPU fan not the GPU fan that's running hot. [Bug 377414] Re: libdvdread libdvdread: CHECK_VALUE failed in ifo_read.c:1913
I seem to be able to play the dvd (Dark Knight also), but attempting to backup with thoggen or any other dvd accessing application gives me this error so maybe Totem has worked around / fixed it inadvertently or otherwise. apt-cache policy libdvdread4 libdvdread4: Installed: 4.1.3-5ubuntu2 Candidate: 4.1.3-5ubuntu2 Version table: *** 4.1.3-5ubuntu2 0 500 http://au.archive.ubuntu.com karmic/universe Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status apt-cache policy totem totem: Installed: 2.28.2-0ubuntu3 Candidate: 2.28.2-0ubuntu3 Version table: *** 2.28.2-0ubuntu3 0 500 http://au.archive.ubuntu.com karmic-updates/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 2.28.1-0ubuntu4 0 500 http://au.archive.ubuntu.com karmic/main Packages apt-cache policy thoggen thoggen: Installed: 0.7.1-1ubuntu1 Candidate: 0.7.1-1ubuntu1 Version table: *** 0.7.1-1ubuntu1 0 500 http://au.archive.ubuntu.com karmic/universe Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status -- libdvdread libdvdread: CHECK_VALUE failed in ifo_read.c:1913 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/377414 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I can second that, although more specifically I get the bug when reconnection occurs after cycling the wireless hardware switch. -- BUG: scheduling while atomic: swapper/0/0x1001 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/440385 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 252813] Re: SEGFAULT in Firefox-3.0 on certain sites
Scratch that, I have the same problem I first described when attempting to login to Hotmail (http://login.live.com/login.srf?wa=wsignin1.0rpsnv=10ct=1217704358rver=4.5.2130.0wp=MBIwreply=http:%2F%2Fmail.live.com%2Fdefault.aspxid=64855). I actually got a gdb log as well, which I've attached. I'm able to faithfully reproduce it. I'll try it in safe-mode and on my other computer in a little while. To reproduce I just load up Hotmail.com, type in username/password, and press return. Segfaults every time. flashplugin-nonfree version: 10.0.1.218+10.0.0.525ubuntu1~hardy1+really9.0.124.0ubuntu2 sun-java6-plugin version: 6-06-0ubuntu1 Firefox extensions installed: Download Statusbar, FlashGot (disabled), FoxyProxy, Neo Diggler, Session Manager, Ubuntu Firefox Modifications, and User Agent Switcher Would other plugins be helpful too? ** Attachment added: GDB Log http://launchpadlibrarian.net/16497401/gdb-firefox.txt -- SEGFAULT in Firefox-3.0 on certain sites https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/252813 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 252813] Re: SEGFAULT in Firefox-3.0 on certain sites
Also, please answer these questions: Is this crash reproducible? If so, which are the steps that lead to it? Which flash package do you have installed? Which Java package do you have installed? Which Firefox extensions do you have installed? Hm... it seems to have fixed itself as I updated to the dbg package of Firefox. I had tried running it in safe-mode but that didn't help, neither did disabling Java or Javascript. Might have been a flash issue but that wouldn't make sense since flash hasn't been upgraded. Not really sure what the problem was but it's gone now. Thanks for your help! Is there any disadvantage to running the debug version of Firefox? -- SEGFAULT in Firefox-3.0 on certain sites https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/252813 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 251842] Re: after an UBUNTU update a number of basic functions and all new functions in Version 3.0.1 not longer available
Yup, all bookmarks disappeared. I had previously been running Firefox using sudo trying to debug another problem I've been having. Needless to say I didn't fix much by doing what I did ;D Still new to this whole bug hunting thing. -- after an UBUNTU update a number of basic functions and all new functions in Version 3.0.1 not longer available https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/251842 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 251842] Re: after an UBUNTU update a number of basic functions and all new functions in Version 3.0.1 not longer available
I've experienced a similar problem. All my navigation buttons were greyed out and it seemed as if all my settings weren't being loaded. I would get a blank page upon load. Turns out some of my files in my .mozilla directory were owned by root. I solved it with a quick sudo chown -R user:user ~/.mozilla where user is your username.
[Bug 252813] [NEW] SEGFAULT in Firefox-3.0 on certain sites
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: firefox-3.0 On the following two sites I'm able to get a reproducible SEGFAULT with Firefox 3.0.1 on Ubuntu 8.04. http://robotgrrl.com/blog/2008/04/30/stanford-epgy-d/ http://www.kubiakhart.com/index.php?article=viewid=35 Firefox 2 doesn't seem to have this issue. I've disabled JavaScript and Java and still have the problem, and even in safe-mode the problem persists. I tried it on another Ubuntu machine and can't reproduce the problem. I'm new to the debugging and troubleshooting in Linux, not really sure what to try. No core dumped so I can't really rely on that. Not sure how to do a trace quite yet either... Any ideas?
