[Bug 229732] Re: USB Keyboard drivers not loaded in initramfs
This is still valid to this day on Saucy. Debian supports USB in initramfs via /etc/initramfs-tools/conf.d/driver-policy : MODULES=most or via /etc/initramfs-tools/modules: usbcore uhci_hcd ehci_hcd usbhid Perhaps one of these options would make a sensible default in this day and age, or at least something obvious to note with an appropriate message when dropping to an initfamfs shell? This would have saved quite a few 'hard lockup' reboots on my system over the last few months before I discovered the reason. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/229732 Title: USB Keyboard drivers not loaded in initramfs To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/server-papercuts/+bug/229732/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1228868] Re: Feature Req: Improve readability, use 2 spaces between package names
Not sure which package to associate this with (apt / aptitude). I also realise that this has upstream consequences on debian. It seems like a small usability change, and I wouldn't be surprised to hear that this is a 1 line code fix, but it makes a big enough difference to the readability of the package list that I felt I must share. I'd be most concerned about whether there are tools, scripts, etc. that read the output of these commands (apt / aptitude) that would break on 2 spaces. ** Package changed: ubuntu => apt ** Also affects: aptitude Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1228868 Title: Feature Req: Improve readability, use 2 spaces between package names To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/apt/+bug/1228868/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1228868] [NEW] Feature Req: Improve readability, use 2 spaces between package names
Public bug reported: Just now I noticed the output of a archlinux system update (pacman -Syu) uses 2 spaces between package names. I found this significantly easier to read. Packages (37): archlinux-keyring-20130818-1 bash-4.2.045-5 btrfs- progs-0.20rc1.2-2 cryptsetup-1.6.2-1 curl-7.32.0-2 dbus-1.6.14-1 device-mapper-2.02.100-1 ... On my ubuntu system, having the package names only have 1 space between can make it more difficult to notice updates that I should pay particular attention to rather than just accepting an moving on. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1228868 Title: Feature Req: Improve readability, use 2 spaces between package names To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1228868/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
