[Bug 958384] Re: Libre office default style settings are poor.
Hi Björn and Christopher, With all due respect, I would like to ask you to re-open this bug. The reasoning behind this request is that this is not something we want to send upstream - I don't think they would want Ubuntu font as default, nor various oranges and purples in the default colour palate. I guess the bug titling wasn't exactly ideal, it perhaps should have mentioned that the styles should be more ubuntu styled. [Bug 958384] [NEW] Libre office default style settings are poor.
Public bug reported: Libreoffice has very poor default style settings, such as headings, colours, font selections etc. We need to get these fixed to make it a better, easier to work with application. Part of the Ubuntu offering is about excellent defaults, so this really needs doing. I think there are 3 things that need particular attention: Default heading styles - the style of headings is particularly poor, with strange size, font and style choices Default font - I haven't checked precise, but this of course needs to be the Ubuntu font Default colours for drawing objects: that light blue is hideous, we need to choose something more modern, more professional, more Ubuntu. I am sure there are more to be done, but perhaps people can report separate bugs for them or add in the comments. [Bug 838640] [NEW] Feature add: shortcut to skip between misspelled words
Public bug reported: I would really appreciate a shortcut to skip between misspelled words. currently there are 2 ways of getting to a misspelled word when re- reading, use the mouse, click, right click to fix/type to fix, or use arrow keys (with possible ctrl for slightly quicker jumping). Wh I would like to see, is a feature that maybe super + arrow takes you from misspelled word to misspelled word, (middle points, so the menu key works, thus making it quicker to skip through and fix spelling mistakes. [Bug 438556] [NEW] Phonon Ticks when opening/playing a sound
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: phonon Ive been running karmic for a while on this lappy, and sound has been a constant issue. It works ok, except for when a sound needs to be played, I get a "tick" sound (like a mike being plugged in?) and the mute light flashes. it then goes on to play the sound - however, if the sound is too short like a skype notifiction or so, you get just the tick and mute light flash. ju...@eagle:~$ lsb_release -rd Description:Ubuntu karmic (development branch) Release:9.10 ju...@eagle:~$ apt-cache policy phonon phonon: Installed: 4:4.3.1-4ubuntu1 Candidate: 4:4.3.1-4ubuntu1 Version table: *** 4:4.3.1-4ubuntu1 0 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com karmic/universe Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status ju...@eagle:~$ ju...@eagle:~$ lspci 00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corporation Mobile PM965/GM965/GL960 Memory Controller Hub (rev 0c) 00:01.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation Mobile PM965/GM965/GL960 PCI Express Root Port (rev 0c) 00:03.0 Communication controller: Intel Corporation Mobile PM965/GM965 MEI Controller (rev 0c) 00:03.2 IDE interface: Intel Corporation Mobile PM965/GM965 PT IDER Controller (rev 0c) 00:03.3 Serial controller: Intel Corporation Mobile PM965/GM965 KT Controller (rev 0c) 00:19.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82566MM Gigabit Network Connection (rev 03) 00:1a.0 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) USB UHCI Controller #4 (rev 03) 00:1a.1 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) USB UHCI Controller #5 (rev 03) 00:1a.7 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) USB2 EHCI Controller #2 (rev 03) 00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) HD Audio Controller (rev 03) 00:1c.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) PCI Express Port 1 (rev 03) 00:1c.1 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) PCI Express Port 2 (rev 03) 00:1c.4 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) PCI Express Port 5 (rev 03) 00:1d.0 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) USB UHCI Controller #1 (rev 03) 00:1d.1 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) USB UHCI Controller #2 (rev 03) 00:1d.2 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) USB UHCI Controller #3 (rev 03) 00:1d.7 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) USB2 EHCI Controller #1 (rev 03) 00:1e.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation 82801 Mobile PCI Bridge (rev f3) 00:1f.0 ISA bridge: Intel Corporation 82801HBM (ICH8M-E) LPC Interface Controller (rev 03) 00:1f.2 IDE interface: Intel Corporation 82801HBM/HEM (ICH8M/ICH8M-E) SATA IDE Controller (rev 03) 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc M76 [Radeon Mobility HD 2600 Series] 01:00.1 Audio device: ATI Technologies Inc RV630/M76 audio device [Radeon HD 2600 Series] 02:06.0 CardBus bridge: Ricoh Co Ltd RL5c476 II (rev b9) 02:06.1 CardBus bridge: Ricoh Co Ltd RL5c476 II (rev b9) 02:06.2 FireWire (IEEE 1394): Ricoh Co Ltd R5C832 IEEE 1394 Controller (rev 03) 02:06.3 SD Host controller: Ricoh Co Ltd R5C822 SD/SDIO/MMC/MS/MSPro Host Adapter (rev 20) 02:06.4 System peripheral: Ricoh Co Ltd R5C843 MMC Host Controller (rev ff) 10:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 4965 AG or AGN [Kedron] Network Connection (rev 61) ju...@eagle:~$ ProblemType: Bug Architecture: i386 Date: Tue Sep 29 10:05:25 2009 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.10 Package: phonon 4:4.3.1-4ubuntu1 PackageArchitecture: all ProcEnviron: LANGUAGE= LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.31-11.36-generic SourcePackage: phonon Uname: Linux 2.6.31-11-generic i686 ** Affects: phonon (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug i386 -- Phonon Ticks when opening/playing a sound https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/438556 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 287005] Re: Saving pictures in Ksnapshot defaults to "all supported files"
K/Ubuntu is known to have defaults that help the general user. The rational in asking for this change is twofold: 1. Users want to have a smooth workflow - not having this this adds more clicks and annoyance to the workflow 2. Users may not be aware of free formats or good formats to use for this type of pictures - the appeal of Kubuntu is that defaults are good, but the choice is there.
