[Bug 958384] Re: Libre office default style settings are poor.

2012-03-18 Thread Jussi Schultink
Hi Björn and Christopher,

With all due respect, I would like to ask you to re-open this bug. The
reasoning behind this request is that this is not something we want to
send upstream - I don't think they would want Ubuntu font as default,
nor various oranges and purples in the default colour palate. I guess
the bug titling wasn't exactly ideal, it perhaps should have mentioned
that the styles should be more ubuntu styled.

Thoughts?

[Bug 958384] [NEW] Libre office default style settings are poor.

2012-03-18 Thread Jussi Schultink
Public bug reported:

Libreoffice has very poor default style settings, such as headings,
colours, font selections etc. We need to get these fixed to make it a
better, easier to work with application.

Part of the Ubuntu offering is about excellent defaults, so this really
needs doing.

I think there are 3 things that need particular attention:

Default heading styles - the style of headings is particularly poor, with
strange size, font and style choices
Default font - I haven't checked precise, but this of course needs to be the
Ubuntu font
Default colours for drawing objects: that light blue is hideous, we need to
choose something more modern, more professional, more Ubuntu.

I am sure there are more to be done, but perhaps people can report
separate bugs for them or add in the comments.

[Bug 884110] [NEW] Libreoffice PDF export will not save to samba share

2011-10-31 Thread Jussi Schultink
Public bug reported:

When I attempt to export a PDF from Libre office to a Samba share on
kubuntu, I get the message "You can only select local files".

Steps to reproduce:

1. Open any libreoffice doc from local file, or create new one.
2. Click the PDF export Icon in the toolbar.
3. Navigate the file picker to a samba share - I had one already in the
shorcuts.
4. Enter filename and click save
5. see message "You can only select local files"

[Bug 838640] [NEW] Feature add: shortcut to skip between misspelled words

2011-09-01 Thread Jussi Schultink
Public bug reported:

I would really appreciate a shortcut to skip between misspelled words.
currently there are 2 ways of getting to a misspelled word when re-
reading, use the mouse, click, right click to fix/type to fix, or use
arrow keys (with possible ctrl for slightly quicker jumping). Wh I would
like to see, is a feature that maybe super + arrow takes you from
misspelled word to misspelled word, (middle points, so the menu key
works, thus making it quicker to skip through and fix spelling mistakes.

[Bug 793487] [NEW] Kubuntu does not shut down when external monitor attached through displayport

2011-06-06 Thread Jussi Schultink
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel

After connecting and configuring my lenovo thinkvision screen via the
display port, the machine does not fully shut down, it exits the DE,
drops to the plymouth shoutdown screen and flickers between the external
and internal screens. (the machine is a HP probook 5320m laptop). I have
left it this way for ~15-20 mins with out successfully shutting down. I
have it configured to only display on the external screen when inside
the DE.

[Bug 760456] [NEW] Freeze exception for sync of a new package from debian (Openerp-web)

2011-04-14 Thread Jussi Schultink
Public bug reported:

This package is an addition to the openerp-server we have in the repos
currently, and had now been in debian for some time. I should be synced
now as there are no dependencies - it is an additional package only,
thus having little or no impact on other software only on the package
itsself.

This is a feature not a bug. We want to avoid having two separate
images for Netbook and Desktop but rather offer one image which selects
the appropriate workspace for the machine it runs on. You can swap
workspace after install through System Settings. This is specified in
https://wiki.kubuntu.org/KubuntuMaverickPlasmaNetbookConfig

Public bug reported:

I have a similar problem both here and on my home pc, with 2 different
video drivers (ati here, nvidia at home). It seems that lancelot draws
objects in the wrong place, often over each other. usually, by resizing
the lancelot "window" it will reset it and make it go back to normal.

[Bug 438556] [NEW] Phonon Ticks when opening/playing a sound

2009-09-29 Thread Jussi Schultink
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: phonon

Ive been running karmic for a while on this lappy, and sound has been a
constant issue. It works ok, except for when a sound needs to be played,
I get a "tick" sound (like a mike being plugged in?) and the mute light
flashes. it then goes on to play the sound - however, if the sound is
too short like a skype notifiction or so, you get just the tick and mute
light flash.

[Bug 287005] Re: Saving pictures in Ksnapshot defaults to "all supported files"

2008-10-21 Thread Jussi Schultink
K/Ubuntu is known to have defaults that help the general user. The
rational in asking for this change is twofold:

1. Users want to have a smooth workflow - not having this this adds more clicks
and annoyance to the workflow
2. Users may not be aware of free formats or good formats to use for this type
of pictures - the appeal of Kubuntu is that defaults are good, but the choice
is there. (IMHO)
