[Bug 875134] Re: Ubuntu 11.10 wireless crashes router

2011-10-19 Thread Justin Waters
I'm affected as well. I'm not at my computer right now to get details,
but I'm running 11.10 on my System 76 Pangolin PANP5.

* Intel Wireless iwlagn driver
* Router: Buffalo WHR-HP-G300N (with stock DD-WRT-based firmware, updated
within the last 6 months)

Using "options iwlagn 11n_disable=1" seems to work, although I get a
warning about the file being ignored in the future.

[Bug 575432] Re: Simple Scan doesn't scan at the right size

2010-05-16 Thread Justin Waters
I'm running into the same problem with my Epson scanner. It seems that
"Preferences->Page Size" is broken, as it doesn't seem to affect
anything.

So far, the only solution I've come up with is to:

Scan the Page
Select Page->Crop->Letter
Adjust the box to fit the output

It's not terribly intuitive. Perhaps a drop down for page size (that
actually works!) would be useful for cases when the "auto" page size
fails for whatever reason.

[Bug 181374] Re: toshset required kernel toshiba support not enabled.

2008-04-28 Thread Justin Waters
I was experiencing the same problem on a Toshiba A105-S4084 with Phoenix
BIOS when running Ubuntu Hardy. I updated the BIOS from 1.70 to 6.00,
and my FN keys work, as does the screen brightness.

http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-
bin/tais/su/su_sc_modItemList.jsp?moid=1373530&rpn=PSAA8U&ct=DL&BV_SessionID=0643615367.1209421677&BV_EngineID=cccjadedmelledicgfkceghdgngdgnj.0

Function Keys that Worked right off the bat:
Mute, Suspend, Hibernate, Brightness Down, Brightness Up, Function Key Lock,
Numpad Lock, Scroll Lock, Web Browser, Play/Pause, Stop, Previous Track, Next
Track

I'm still getting "No Such Device" errors when I try to install the
modules, however. My screen brightness control works again, so I'm not
really worried about that.
