[Bug 748709] Re: general protection fault: 0000 [#1] SMP
Had this problem occur last night on shut-down. I've had this problem occur a couple of times in the last month. Using kernel 3.0.0-12-generic #20-Ubuntu SMP Fri Oct 7 14:56:25 UTC 2011 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux (Xubuntu version). Similar output to comments #2 and #3 above. Hardware is Gigabyte G41MT-S2P motherboard with Intel E5700 dual core 64 bit processors and 8Gb RAM (onboard display adapter shares this memory). Integrated display adapter is Northbridge G41. I'm running BOINC in the background. At first I thought this might be a RAM fault, but memtest comes up with nothing. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/748709 Title: general protection fault: [#1] SMP To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/748709/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Have this problem on Oneiric 64 bit (upgraded from Natty, a while back). Using nvidia_current (270.41.06 driver). Restricted driver prompt pop- up appeared and two new options for display were shown - both were 'Nvidia binary xorg driver, kernel module and VDPAU library '. [Bug 726595] [NEW] Evolution - unable to delete files and empty wastebasket
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution When I try to delete messages from my Evolution inbox the message is marked with a line through it and just sits there. If I then exit and restart Evolution the message is still in the inbox. [Bug 691834] Re: Lost entry in grub menu
Work around In order to recover the missing menu entries it seems that you have to mount the missing drive, so that you can access the files. I did this via Dolphin (Nautilus in Ubuntu). Once this partition is mounted I ran sudo update-grub in Konsole (terminal) and the menu entry was then generated. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/691834 Title: Lost entry in grub menu -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 608058] Re: Boinc fails to start projects in Lucid
The stderrdae.txt file seems to be empty (i.e. no errors). The stdoutdae.txt file I've attached I've reduced in size so that it only shows recent activity (the original was 1.4Mb). When I first ran up the PC from cold this morning BOINC did not see any attached projects and so I rebooted (but still no attached projects, this is new). A second reboot and BOINC is again running fine. The stdoutdae.txt file looks OK. ** Attachment added: "standard output file for BOINC-client." http://launchpadlibrarian.net/52745048/stdoutdae.txt -- Boinc fails to start projects in Lucid https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/608058 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 608058] Re: Boinc fails to start projects in Lucid
The problem still occurs with the latest programs. Linux kernel is now 2.6.32-24-generic #38-Ubuntu SMP Mon Jul 5 09:20:59 UTC 2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux (updated recently). [Bug 608058] Re: Boinc fails to start projects in Lucid
My version from the standard repos for both the client and manager was 6.10.17+dfsg-3ubuntu1. I've now added the repo and installed 6.10.58. I'll post back in the problem is still occurring (it may be a few days...) Yes the K800i does support obex FTP and has previously worked fine in 7.10, 8.04 (early Hardy) and at first in early kernel 2.6.28-11 (see above). I've just tried a Motorola phone and get the same problem as previously reported (org.openobex.Error.Connection.Refused). [Bug 504375] Re: Kubuntu 10.4 Segmentation Fault on Logoff, Restart, Shutdown
VMC. I think my segfault bug is different from your reported one, I did have segfaults on shutdown at one stage, but can't get that far now. Koso. It looks like your segfault is another bug. I've also seen that one, but can't reproduce as again I can't get that far in Kubuntu any more. I'm not sure how we should proceed. -- Kubuntu 10.4 Segmentation Fault on Logoff,Restart,Shutdown https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/504375 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 504375] Re: Kubuntu 10.4 Segmentation Fault on Logoff, Restart, Shutdown
I've been able to install via tty prompt (I'm using 64 bit) and have generated the attached backtrace file. ** Attachment added: "backtrace file" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/37650316/kded4-20100109.kcrash -- Kubuntu 10.4 Segmentation Fault on Logoff,Restart,Shutdown https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/504375 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Sorry, just to confirm Kubuntu kernel is -8 (and not -9). Attached syslog file. From Jan 7th 11.073729 things start to go wrong (Nvidia taints kernel). ** Attachment added: "Syslog" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/37613271/syslog -- Kubuntu 10.4 Segmentation Fault on Logoff,Restart,Shutdown https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/504375 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 504375] Re: Kubuntu 10.4 Segmentation Fault on Logoff, Restart, Shutdown
Same problem here. I'm using Kubuntu 64bit kernel 2.8.32-9. Unfortunately I can't run Kubuntu as I immediately get the segfaults as soon as I've logged in (I'll attach a screenshot in a following post). As soon as the error windows are closed I just get a black screen and a white cursor and nothing else.
