[Bug 1847704] Re: On upgrade to 19.10, Unity custom keyboard shortcuts stop working
The shortcuts keys you use for your custom shortcuts are being used somewhere else. Usually it should disable the old shortcut and enable yours. But it seems it is not happening here. Did you reboot after the upgrade? Please mention the installed version of Unity, unity-control- center & unity-settings-daemon. To debug, 1. Install compiz-config-settings manager. Make sure you have unity profile selected in preference. 2. Reboot & Recreate those shortcuts from system- settings->keyboard->shortcuts->custom-shortcuts 3. Open terminal & run `unity-settings-daemon -r --debug`. 4. Wait for it to stop printing, then press enter couple of times to separate the cursor. 5. Now press your custom shortcuts , you will some log printing on the terminal. 6. Paste the output to https://paste.ubuntu.com/ 7. @Mario Limonciello I did not respond because I was busy with breakage in other unity related packages. You should give us time to do that specially when you filed the bug one week ago. Now we don't have access to ~ubuntu-core-dev, we can't change those. Also you are doing it wrong. 1. First you should clone lp:~unity7maintainers/ubuntu-seeds/ubuntu- unity.cosmic and then update structure and then push it as lp:~unity7maintainers/ubuntu-seeds/ubuntu-unity.eoan. 2. Then you change the update.config in https://code.launchpad.net/~unity7maintainers/ubuntu-unity-meta/ 3. Only then you run a ./update. 4. git push launchpad master As of now it is not clear how do I push a new update ? [Bug 1827411] Re: With nemo-desktop it spams syslog
Actually it's nor really related to nemo, it's happening since the split of nautilus-desktop as a separate binary from nautilus. Bamf somehow not considering desktop window as valid bamf window (see https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/wz32KF7Kqx/). As a result when indicator- appmenu tries to track menu it fails. [Bug 1824155] Re: Could not add global menu in gnome-panel (Ubuntu 19.04)
@Alberts Yes, gtk-shell-shows-app-menu should be true. To make it work on flashback (19.04) 1) Disable workaround gsettings set org.gnome.gnome-flashback.workarounds fix-app-menu false That should do it if not try overriding xsettings gsettings set org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.xsettings overrides '@a{sv} {"Gtk/ShellShowsAppMenu": }' (And unity-gtk-module is handling gtk-shell-shows-menu-bar.) 2) Now add app-menu-applet to the panel, it should work. At least it is working for me for chromium. But the issue is some gnome apps (like terminal, gedit) only exports appmenu and not the menubar depending on XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP and it thinks flashback as gnome-session. Since appmenu was removed in 3.32, there are no menu at all on the panel. The other issue is, as you described, g-s-d now hardcoded appmenu to false, will xsettings override even work ? If it does, indicator-appmenu-applet can set both to true in debian/postinstall for flashback session. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1824155 Title: Could not add global menu in gnome-panel (Ubuntu 19.04) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-flashback/+bug/1824155/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
