[Bug 147623] Re: [amd64 + nvidia 8xxx] usplash shows nothing
Harvey Muller's solution worked for me as well. For the first time in months I actually saw usplash on boot! Seems weird because I tried these exact same steps not too long ago and it didn't work. Perhaps in combination with driver updates? I did just upgrade to the latest nvidia drivers (171.05) last week, and have noticed a much more stable environment because of it. This could have had an effect on usplash. Driver is available here; http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux_display_amd64_171.05.html -- [amd64 + nvidia 8xxx] usplash shows nothing https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/147623 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 152464] Re: System Monitor won't remember Memory preference setting (Gutsy)

[Bug 147623] Re: [EM64T][gutsy beta] When booting gutsy, screen stays black.
If you want this bug to be more noticed, I suggest nominating it for release in gutsy. (Click the Nominate for release link in the side nav on this page) I have doubts that it will be fixed in time for the final release next week, but I'm sure it will be fixed at some point before the next release cycle. -- [EM64T][gutsy beta] When booting gutsy, screen stays black. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/147623 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 152464] System Monitor won't remember Memory preference setting (Gutsy)
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-system-monitor I am currently using the latest Gutsy RC Release (64-bit). System Monitor Version 2.20.0 gnome-system-monitor won't remember if I turn on the Memory column in my preferences for the Processes tab. It does remember all other information fields (that I have tried), and it does remember the position of the fields. Steps to reproduce: 1. Open gnome-system-monitor 2. Go to processes tab 3. Go to Edit Preferences 4. Check Memory under Information Fields 5. Close and restart gnome-system-monitor (the Memory column will not show up on restart) ** Affects: gnome-system-monitor (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- System Monitor won't remember Memory preference setting (Gutsy) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/152464 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 147623] Re: [EM64T][gutsy beta] When booting gutsy, screen stays black.
I'm also experiencing this problem on Gutsy RC. I did not have this problem on Feisty, and nothing in my computer specs has changed. Mobo: Asus Crosshair CPU: AMD64x2 6000+ Video: EVGA GeForce 8800GTS (640MB) RAM: 2GB XMS2 DDR2-800 Monitor: Dell Trinitron (Could not find model number) Is it just me, or does it seem everyone here having this problem is running a 8800GTS? Possibly an nvidia driver incompatibility issue? I really hope this is fixed before final release. -- [EM64T][gutsy beta] When booting gutsy, screen stays black. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/147623 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 150787] Re: Distribution upgrade to 7.10 fails
The distribution upgrade works fine on the new RC release of 7.10 that came out earlier today. I'm not sure what the problem originally was, but it now seems to be fixed... so I think this bug can be closed. -- Distribution upgrade to 7.10 fails https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/150787 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 150787] Re: Distribution upgrade to 7.10 fails
It seems the file is corrupt on my hard drive as well. Could this be a hint to the problem? I'll try to reproduce the problem again and see if the file is still corrupted. -- Distribution upgrade to 7.10 fails https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/150787 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 150787] Re: Distribution upgrade to 7.10 fails
Ok, this time around it didn't come back as corrupted... so I guess that isn't a hint to the problem. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: update-manager I am attempting to upgrade my 7.04 installation to 7.10 BETA using the alternate CD.
