[Bug 1768258] Re: Intermittend black screen - after login on bootup

2018-05-01 Thread Kitsab
Hello Sebastien,

it is possible, that this is the same issue, I also entered the password
wrong the first time it appeared today, the second login trial with the
correct password lead me into the black-screen.

Best regards

Kitsab

** Description changed:

  Hello,

I'm experiencing intermittent dekstop environment loading issues with gnome
3.28. After logging in on the Session greeter, it loads for a few seconds and
no desktop appears just a grey/black backround, nothings gonna happen.
- First I just done Alt-Print-REISUB to recover, but I found out switching
console Ctrl-Alt-F2 and back to Ctrl-Alt-F1 brings me back to the login screen
and I can do another login which resolved the issue for me everytime it
happened.

console Ctrl-Alt-F3 and back to Ctrl-Alt-F1 brings me back to the login screen
and I can do another login which resolved the issue for me everytime it
happened.
I think it is going to hapen every 10-20st boot.
  I'll attach a few logs.

[Bug 1761003] Re: Bionic Beaver - not able to connect to WPA Enterprise EAP-TLS

2018-04-04 Thread Kitsab
Hello,

thank you fro taking care about this, I created a bug report at gnome
bugzilla as requested:

https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=794988

Additional Information:
Maybe the bug reporting tool reported a wrong package, eventually the
wpa-supplicant package is causing this issue (not sure).
I've recognized the status info is possibly wrong:UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log
present (probably fresh install)
I performed an upgrade from 16.04, and 16.04. was upgraded from 14.04, (and I
think 14.04 from 12.04 - not sure)

Best regards

[Bug 1761003] [NEW] Bionic Beaver - not able to connect to WPA Enterprise EAP-TLS

2018-04-03 Thread Kitsab
Public bug reported:

Hello,

since update to Bionic Beaver I can't connect to my WPA2-Entertrise EAP TLS
network. Running Freeradius 2.29 on a DDWRT router. In 16.04 it worked, in the
dual boot Windows 10 environment it is still working with the same certificates.
It is a hidden network, adding it by "connect to a hidden network" entering
SSID, UserID, ca.pem as CA cert, user cert xxx.p12 file and user certificate
password.
Tried a lot not getting it working. The password entry dialog for the network
is always popping up upon connection trials. The password is for sure the
correct one, checked it very often.
If I'm able to I'll attach a syslog and kern.log of error occurense.

Thanks for investigation and inputs.

Best regards

Kitsab

[Bug 1339607] Re: "Unencrypted private keys are insecure" message is vague and unhelpful

2017-01-12 Thread Kitsab
Hello,

a few days ago I incientially found a way to resolve the issue on my ubuntu
16.04 machine.
For me the issue appeared as a popup every time the lightdm login screen was
loaded.

As I added another user I moved the certificate folder which contains
the certificates from my encrypted home folder the a subfolder of root
ie. /mycertsfolder/certificatefile.cer, the issue was gone.

The reason I did this was the encrypted home folder was not readable by
the new user that was added.

Hopefully this helps

best regards

2017-01-09 Thread Kitsab
Hello,

I had the same issue, it went away after I moved my certificates from inside my
home directory into a self created subpath of root:
Certificate storage path with error appearing:
/home/myuser/.cert/{certificate files}
Certificate storage path now, with error disappeared:
/somefolder/{certificate files}

Hopefully this helps-

Hi,

I upgraded my desktop computer from 11.10 to 12.04 after this the unity-greeter
shows the login as expected but the unity bar won't load. my desktop icons are
there but no system tray and no unity bar. i treid to install the newest AMD
graphic drviers but this was even worse after this the desktop icons are also
gone. Then I went back to fglrx drivers this brought my desktop icons back but
still no unity there. I removed compiz and tried to modify the lightdm.conf to
load gnome-classic or unity-2d. But no success until now.
After all this en Unity error popped up as I tried to launch unity by terminal,
and this leaded me to the bug-reporting.

[Bug 989900] Re: DNS Resolve Problems in Ubuntu 12.04

Hi,

I found a workaround that works for me, theres a description adding this
line dns-nameservers [IP address(es) of your DNS] to the
/etc/network/interfaces file.
