upstream.

[Bug 1854630] [NEW] xcwcp doesn't use pulseaudio

2019-12-01 Thread Koos van den Hout
Public bug reported:

I tried xcwcp on a system with a fresh ubuntu 18.04 LTS install with
ubuntu-hams-updates ppa installed. It gave an error on the commandline:

xcwcp: PulseAudio output not available (device: ( default ))

with pulseaudio being available fine, so I expected it to use
pulseaudio.

With strace I found it tries to use libpulse-simple.so which is not
available. I fixed it by making a softlink

/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu$ sudo ln -sf libpulse-simple.so.0 libpulse-
simple.so

So this is an incompatibility between a freshly installed libpulse0 and
xcwcp.

I run wsjt-x for jt65/jt9 mode contacts. I notice the application
crashes when the Internet connection is interrupted during radio

iptraf-ng is showing the IPv6 traffic fine, so this would be a good

I need to power it down by hand. Resume has no problem resuming the system and
everything seems fine after resume.

Re: [Bug 716115] Re: gpsmap 100% cpu load

2013-04-29 Thread Koos van den Hout
Quoting Nick Andrik who wrote on Mon 2013-04-29 at 17:43:

Could you please check this bug against the most recent
(2013.03.R1b-1) kismet package?

gpsmap has been removed from the kismet package, according to the
README:

Q: What happened to gpsmap?
A: gpsmap was the old mapper code for Kismet. It stopped being useful a
long time ago when the map sources it used went away. It's being
replaced with a tile-based mapper, the beginnings of which are in
the kismap/ directory in the source code. Kismap isn't quite
finished for the RC1 release, but development continues on it and it
   will be available hopefully soon.

I have built a 64-bit version of gpsmap from kismet v2007.10.R1 sources and
that version works and generates maps.

2013-04-29 Thread Koos van den Hout
Quoting Nick Andrik who wrote on Mon 2013-04-29 at 19:18:

What you are describing seems like this bug, right?
 http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=563117

No.

The gpsmap program is a separate program for plotting logfiles from kismet
onto maps.

Maybe also remotely connected to this one, too:
 http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=468129

Yes. Most kismet parts are for the wardriving part, where it can run in a
headless mode.

So, if I understand correctly there is no current support for a mapper
in kismet 2013.

The README says kismap is a new development, but only very rudimental at
the moment.

Do you think that the 2007 gpsmap could be ported to 2013?

I'm not sure: for as far as I am aware file formats have changed so a 2007
gpsmap may not work with logfiles generated by kismet from 2013.

Workaround, separate logging rules for newws (for readability) and
change the FileOwner and FileGroup.

[Bug 669890] [NEW] tin defaults to a local newsspool

2010-11-02 Thread Koos van den Hout
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: tin

When I start tin from the command-line as-is (just 'tin') it defaults to
a local newsspool. In the average modern setup the newsserver is remote

[Bug 588635] [NEW] apparmor profile for sbin.dhclient3 not compatible with wicd

2010-06-02 Thread Koos van den Hout
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: wicd

I set some options for dhclient3 in /etc/wicd/dhclient.conf.template and
noticed they were not being used. Some further searching showed me the
following syslog entry:

Jun 2 10:09:44 machiavelli kernel: [107612.391626] type=1503
audit(1275466184.529:22): operation=open pid=28884 parent=28838
profile=/sbin/dhclient3 requested_mask=r:: denied_mask=r:: fsuid=0
ouid=0 name=/var/lib/wicd/dhclient.conf

Editing /etc/apparmor.d/sbin.dhclient3 with an entry:

  # wicd
  /var/lib/wicd/* r,

(and reloading apparmor) fixed the problem.

[Bug 429520] Re: can't change SMTP server to non-default for an identity

2010-05-19 Thread Koos van den Hout
I'm seeing a variant of this bug: when composing a message and sending
it after moving to a different network sending fails because the
previous smtp server is unreachable (jay firewalls) and going to the
account settings and selecting a different smtp server does not help,
thunderbird keeps trying the old smtp server. The new smtp server
selection isn't used until I quit and restart thunderbird.

[Bug 560807] Re: ifconfig does not display inet6 addresses

2010-04-13 Thread Koos van den Hout
Downloaded source and hunted:

lib/interface.c line 721 assumes if_idx is a 2 character hex value in
/proc/net/if_inet6, which falls over when interfaces get interesting
numbers. For example:

fe80021fc6fffe5976f6 03 40 20 80 eth0.1
