[Bug 1854630] [NEW] xcwcp doesn't use pulseaudio
Public bug reported: I tried xcwcp on a system with a fresh ubuntu 18.04 LTS install with ubuntu-hams-updates ppa installed. It gave an error on the commandline: xcwcp: PulseAudio output not available (device: ( default )) with pulseaudio being available fine, so I expected it to use pulseaudio. With strace I found it tries to use libpulse-simple.so which is not available. I fixed it by making a softlink /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu$ sudo ln -sf libpulse-simple.so.0 libpulse- simple.so So this is an incompatibility between a freshly installed libpulse0 and xcwcp. xcwcp: Installed: 3.5.1-2 Candidate: 3.5.1-2 Version table: *** 3.5.1-2 500 500 http://nl.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu bionic/universe amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status libpulse0: Installed: 1:11.1-1ubuntu7.2 Candidate: 1:11.1-1ubuntu7.2 Version table: *** 1:11.1-1ubuntu7.2 500 500 http://nl.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu bionic-updates/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 1:11.1-1ubuntu7 500 500 http://nl.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu bionic/main amd64 Packages ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 18.04 Package: xcwcp 3.5.1-2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.15.0-70.79-generic 4.15.18 Uname: Linux 4.15.0-70-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.9-0ubuntu7.9 Architecture: amd64 CurrentDesktop: XFCE Date: Sun Dec 1 15:19:37 2019 InstallationDate: Installed on 2018-12-22 (343 days ago) InstallationMedia: Xubuntu 18.04.1 LTS "Bionic Beaver" - Release amd64 (20180725) SourcePackage: unixcw UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: unixcw (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug bionic -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1854630 Title: xcwcp doesn't use pulseaudio To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unixcw/+bug/1854630/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Re: [Bug 716115] Re: gpsmap 100% cpu load
Quoting Nick Andrik who wrote on Mon 2013-04-29 at 17:43: Could you please check this bug against the most recent (2013.03.R1b-1) kismet package? gpsmap has been removed from the kismet package, according to the README: Q: What happened to gpsmap? A: gpsmap was the old mapper code for Kismet. It stopped being useful a long time ago when the map sources it used went away. It's being replaced with a tile-based mapper, the beginnings of which are in the kismap/ directory in the source code. Kismap isn't quite finished for the RC1 release, but development continues on it and it will be available hopefully soon. I have built a 64-bit version of gpsmap from kismet v2007.10.R1 sources and that version works and generates maps. -- The Virtual Bookcase, the site about books, book | Koos van den Hout news and reviews http://www.virtualbookcase.com/ | http://idefix.net/ PGP keyid DSS/1024 0xF0D7C263 | IPv6 enabled! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/716115 Title: gpsmap 100% cpu load To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kismet/+bug/716115/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
Re: [Bug 716115] Re: gpsmap 100% cpu load
Quoting Nick Andrik who wrote on Mon 2013-04-29 at 19:18: What you are describing seems like this bug, right? http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=563117 No. The gpsmap program is a separate program for plotting logfiles from kismet onto maps. Maybe also remotely connected to this one, too: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=468129 Yes. Most kismet parts are for the wardriving part, where it can run in a headless mode. So, if I understand correctly there is no current support for a mapper in kismet 2013. The README says kismap is a new development, but only very rudimental at the moment. Do you think that the 2007 gpsmap could be ported to 2013? I'm not sure: for as far as I am aware file formats have changed so a 2007 gpsmap may not work with logfiles generated by kismet from 2013. -- Koos van den Hout, PGP keyid DSS/1024 0xF0D7C263 via keyservers k...@kzdoos.xs4all.nl IPv6: Think ::/0, act ::1. http://idefix.net/Are you ready to start supporting IPv6? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/716115 Title: gpsmap 100% cpu load To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kismet/+bug/716115/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 429520] Re: can't change SMTP server to non-default for an identity
I'm seeing a variant of this bug: when composing a message and sending it after moving to a different network sending fails because the previous smtp server is unreachable (jay firewalls) and going to the account settings and selecting a different smtp server does not help, thunderbird keeps trying the old smtp server. The new smtp server selection isn't used until I quit and restart thunderbird. -- can't change SMTP server to non-default for an identity https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/429520 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
