[Bug 50214] Re: can't connect to hidden network
I just identified that NM is surely the cause of my problem. I am using ipw3945 and I can't connect to hidden WEP networks. I tried the some commands [1] and I could connect without a problem. In order for me to connect, I need to shut NM down. I can't connect with NM active. Even after trying out Tim Gardners resume script or Ben Collins', the sound doesn't come up after resuming. I face the same porblem.I have a Intel 3945 ABG card that came with the Dell Inspiron 1420N. It affects knetworkmanager also. The only way I can connect to such a network is by adding the wireless-ssid and wireless- key lines in my /etc/network/interfaces file. Hidden wireless networks are pretty common in Universities.
