[Bug 218213] Re: working with synaptic results cpu 100%
I should add that prior to lucid I'd been using hardy on the same machine for 2 years straight with no signs of this problem. Lucid was installed fresh last night. I hope this helps -- working with synaptic results cpu 100% https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/218213 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Public bug reported: Update manager notified me of several updates (21), most related to a kernel upgrade. Went ahead with the updates. Right at the end I got a pop-up asking me what I wanted done to menu.1st. In the list was an option to compare the proposed menu.1st to my current one. Opted for that option and clicked foreward. I inspected the menus and decided that the new menu.1st was no good since it had no references to my vista partition. At this point I wanted to go back to the list of options but there was no back button, only Cancel and Foreward. So I clicked on Cancel at which point something crashed (i got a notification for a crash report), but the update manager window was still there, just not responded. If I remember correctly, in previous kernel upgrades, the option for the new kernel was automatically appended to the top of menu.1st.
