[Bug 763688] Re: [915GM] S-video output doesn't work in Natty (i386)
I can confirm the problem on Xubuntu 11.10 to. I don't get any signal on the TV screen with kernel 3.0.0-12 and kernel 3.0.0-13. The s-video port is detected and listed on xrandr. The refresh rate is given with 30hz, but is seems to bee wrong for a PAL-TV. If I use an installed lucid kernel 2.6.32-36 so I can switch on the s-video port and I get the expected picture on my TV screen. But is not possible to switch the s-video port off again. On Ubuntu 10.04 and Debian Squeeze the s-video port is able to work as expected. I can switch it on/off and I can change the resolution and TV norm (PAL <-> NTSC) as well. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/763688 Title: [915GM] S-video output doesn't work in Natty (i386) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/763688/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 555169] Re: [lucid] Keyboard and mouse freeze after grub, usb and PS/2 keyboard not working in X (after upgrade? bad-upgrade to lucid)
The issue sounds like the problem on my notebook Dell D830 with a docking station. I installed a fresh Ubuntu 10.04 four weeks ago. Before I used Ubuntu 9.04 without any problem. Now I randomize get freezes on GDM Login. Both keyboards, internal and PC/2, also the synaptic touchpad and the external mouse are frozen. All other devices seems to be right. I can shut down the system with the power button and reboot. Or I can switch the external mouse and keyboard on a PS2-USB-Converter. After I plugged this in, I can log in and work with the notebook. After a reboot the fault is disappeared. Mouses and keyboards on PS/2 and internal devices works fine. The next freeze I'll get 3 or 4 days after. In case of fault I found the following entries [27.681159] input: PS/2 Generic Mouse as /devices/platform/i8042/serio1/input/input14 [27.881028] psmouse.c: Failed to enable mouse on isa0060/serio1 in /var/log/messages. I tried the next hints I found in different discussions to this topic, but no result: 1. use option noapi on grub 2. change kernel from 2.6.32-23-generic-pae to 2.6.32-23-generic 3. change compiz to metacity 4. disable KMS 5. use option noapi and nolapic on grub 6. disable irqbalance Nothing solve the problem. -- [lucid] Keyboard and mouse freeze after grub, usb and PS/2 keyboard not working in X (after upgrade? bad-upgrade to lucid) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/555169 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 528720] Re: Keyboard stuck with irqbalance
Update to entry #16 After a test time about 3 weeks I can say, there no solution for me yet. The next to hints: 5. use option noapi and nolapic on grub 6 disable irqbalance doesn't solve the problem. I randomize get freezes on GDM Login anymore. I left the stable Ubuntu 9.04 and I got an unstable Ubuntu 10.04. I use Ubuntu since version 7.04, but this version is a disaster! The developers should invest more time in a clean release instead of moving buttons on left edge of windows! There are lots of problems in the 10.04, the 10.10 should be the next steep after removing bugs. Or it is time to leave ubuntu. -- Keyboard stuck with irqbalance https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/528720 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 306755] Re: SigmaTel STAC9205: Headphone Jack Not Working
Some additional information: 1. I don't have pulseaudio installed. 2. I use my dell d830 in conjunction with a docking station from dell. And so I have two headphone jacks in my system. One is build in the notebook and one is build in the docking station. Maybe it is important, but I never had problem with the headphone jacks in the docking station. This jack is married with the IEC958 switch in the alsa- mixer. And it is not possible to control this headphone jacks with the master control in the alsa-mixer. 3. Since the update from kernel 2.6.26-9 to 2.6.26-11 the internal headphone jacks seems to work a little bit. I got sound through the headphone but the driver is not really clean. Some devices now are missing in the alsa-mixer and the master control has a own live. It is not possibly to decrease the sound level. If I to the this, the sound increase like from ghost hand. 4. For both kernels, 2.6.26-9 and 2.6.26-11, I can solve the problem with the alsa driver 1.0.19 but not with 1.0.18 (both from linuxant). Furthermore the older kernel 2.6.24 (from Ubuntu 8.04) works without problems on Ubutu 8.10. And this kernel work fine with alsa-driver 1.017 (from linuxant) to. I think the problem is contained in a change from alsa 1.0.17 to 1.0.18. And I can remember to read an entry in a change look from alsa project about a change in a initialization sequence of the stac92xx. Unfortunately I can't find this entry again. Maybe the analog ports of the stac92xx are note used in the same manner on a dell notebook as on a gateway notebook. And maybe a chance in alsa 1.019 only fix issues in a configuration of stac92xx like in a dell systems. -- SigmaTel STAC9205: Headphone Jack Not Working https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/306755 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 306755] Re: SigmaTel STAC9205: Headphone Jack Not Working
1. Driver from linuxant I need the alsa-driver-linuxant not primary to fix the issues with the kernel driver but to use the build in hsf-modem. So the easiest way to install the driver is to run the installscript from http://www.linuxant.com/drivers/hsf/downloads-installer.php. Is also possible to install the deb from http://www.linuxant.com/alsa-driver/. It did this to. The informatin you whished is saved on http://www.alsa-project.org/db/?f=90a96ab10c887c418e6f3532f746472af986aec5 I think, it should be also possible to use the original driver from the ALSA project and build the drive direct from source. The fixes are probably not made from linuxant. I only use this package, because I need my hsf modem and linuxant build in an alsa-patch for the modem driver. And it was important to remove options for the alsa driver in the /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base. No “options snd-hda-intel model=ref” or “options snd-hda-intel model=dell-m44” are possible. In both case the sound through the headphones is missing. -- SigmaTel STAC9205: Headphone Jack Not Working https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/306755 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 306755] Re: SigmaTel STAC9205: Headphone Jack Not Working
The problem seem to be fixed in ALSA 1.019. Now I use the pachtend alsa- driver 1.0.19 from linuxant on my Ubuntu 8.10 and it works fine, with kernel 2.6.27-9 and 2.6.27-11. All problems are solved for me! I have also tested the version 1.0.18 from linuxant, but this version doesn't work.
