Both drives are ext4. One thing I found quite strange is that while copying it used 400MB of swap space although free said there was still 1.4GB of RAM available. Maybe some kind of swapping slows the reading down!? Might be same as bug #541937 (although then it's not only related to the link type). [Bug 570788] [NEW] Screen twisted with multiple Monitors
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-nouveau I have multiple Monitors (2 external + 1 internal) at my Laptop and tried to use nouveau (= running without xorg.conf). The login screen appears and the whole screen is divided - the right half is left and the left half is right. Logging in it stays this way and Ubuntu complains that setting size is not allowed by the driver. After all with it's current state I have the feeling that the driver is pretty unusable - which is hilarious since it's the default for Lucid now. [Bug 542653] [NEW] Addon installer needed
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: thunderbird Since the recent versions of Thunderbird break compatibility quite frequent it's no longer possible for a normal user (or even an experienced one) to know how to get a working add on. For example the Lightning version in the lucid repo is ancient so the user has to manually install the addon. The link to the web pages are then bogus since there is no Lightning build for stable Thunderbird and 64 bit arch. Similar problems are present when trying to get GData plugin to install. Overall the addon system leaves the user totally lost which taken the version incompatabilities into account is just bad. When the abi/interfaces are not kept stable at least an addon tool should be present which then can workout the dependencies for the user. [Bug 527188] [NEW] Firefox shows garbage instead of jpg (only when embedded in iframe)
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: firefox-3.5 Instead of showing the actual jpg firefox displays more or less random garbage when attemting to get a close look at e.g. Wikipedia images (previously found via Google image search). This is only reproductible when the image is displayed withing an iframe. And best of all - there are 3 users on this system and only 1 is facing this problem - the other 2 cannot reproduce this behaviour (it works using the same steps). I'm baffled since I cannot imagine which system component is user centered and also changes the system deep enough to cause such a graphic glitch.
