[Bug 532259] Re: Dark text on Dark background dropdown list firefox

2010-03-11 Thread Laco Horváth
This problem has every single dark GTK theme. By dark i mean dark
menubar, menus etc. There is only one way how to fix this. Using custom
Firefox userChrome.css file. Like the one bundled for example with
Shiki-Colors murrine version.

[Bug 496138] [NEW] gnome panel menu applet icons

2009-12-13 Thread Laco Horváth
Public bug reported:

This is related to this bug
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libgnome/+bug/407621

and desribed more here http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1300811

Even if GNOME team decision to hide icons in menus cannot be considered like
bug, panel applet behavior after this change is IMHO a bug. I would like to
suggest to modify this applet code that way, that even if are menu icons
disabled, System menu will still display those icons like in the rest of the
applet menus, because now it looks inconsistant.

This affect both applets, GNOME main menu and panel menu(don't know
proper ENG names)

[Bug 437763] Re: More friendly repositories

2009-11-28 Thread Laco Horváth
If there are really legal issues (what i don't believe), at least there
could be some post install notification pop-ups before update notifier
shows up for the first time. This pop-up will sugest user to enable
Medibuntu, Proposed updates and Backports.

After that could follow Software updates window pop-up which will users
recommend to instal ubuntu-restricted-extras.
It would be only one shot, right after installation and those recommendations
will never again bother users.

[Bug 425166] Re: Nautilus *.txt file behaviour

2009-09-09 Thread Laco Horváth
Hi all

I don't believe that this is an issue with mounting partitions. Even
if screenshot was made from LiveCD session, this behavior is same also
after installation(no dual boot, Jaunty only). I personally have a few
simple text files stored on external HDD with NTFS and after
installation of Ubuntu they've been copied to Documents folder on ext3
and behave the same way like on picture.

10 000:1 - agree, majority user are confused and that small group of
advanced users can easily change it back in nautilus preferences...

IMO i don't like anyway how linux handes creation of new file through
rightclick. They don't even get extension like *.txt or whatever should
be default..

Maybe it could be set-up that way, that text file original from Windows
(with *.txt extension) will be always displayed instead of ask dialog
and openning text files created in linux(no extenstion) would behave the
current way. Could handling of mime types solve this? And nautilus
preferences could stay unchanged...

[Bug 200704] [NEW] dialogues comes from left, instead from centered place

Public bug reported:

Ubuntu's seach for suitable codec is very nice feature in Totem with
Gsreamer backend. But even if i install all codecs, like good, bad and
ugly they don't provide high quality playback for all media types. I
have many anime videos, where dialogues don't sound from centered
position on my 2.1 speakers, but only from left chanel. It's very
anoying...

Possible solution Please backport to Ubuntu 7.10 latest, updated
Gstreamer plugins 0.10.7 Good, Bad and Ugly. Changelog is very promising
and i believe this could dramaticaly improve overall multimedia
experience in Gutsy. I am convinced that ubuntu restricted-extras
