Trying to use font 'Noto' with medium weight doesn't work anymore in
Ubuntu 20.04 (prerelease, 20200331). It worked fine in Ubuntu 19.10 and
earlier.
Defining the following in a LaTeX document:
\usepackage[medium,extrabold]{noto}
causes errors like this when executing 'pdflatex':
"LaTeX Font Warning: Font shape `T1/NotoSerif-TLF/ediu/it' undefined"
Regular weight works fine.

The underlying problem seems to be the one described in https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=404990 The workaround mentioned in its 2nd comment, using PLAIN authentication method, fixes the problem. [Bug 1840007] [NEW] Kmail reports "Could not read the password" when trying to set an IMAP account online
Public bug reported: STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Try to set Gmail IMAP account online by checking mail. OBSERVED RESULT The account stays offline (folders are marked red) and the message "Could not read the password. User rejected wallet access" message can be seen in the Kmail's account settings. If password is changed there, it is updated correctly to the wallet as seen in Wallet Manager, but the error persists nevertheless. EXPECTED RESULT Account goes online and new messages are downloaded. (Actually, normally the account is online automatically.) SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux: 5.0.0-23 KDE Plasma Version: 5.16.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.60.0 Qt Version: 5.12.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION KDE wallet is opened normally (at login through PAM) and Wallet Manager displays the wallet open and "kontact" as an attached application. The problem appeared suddenly on two different machines around 10.8.2019, possibly after a package update. One system is Kubuntu 18.04 LTS and the other is Kubuntu 19.04, both with KDE backports repository enabled. I noticed that around the time of the problem appearing, an update was installed to mitigate the .desktop file vulnerability. This is really a wishlist item, not a grave bug. Hopefully this is the
right place for reporting it.
Currently upgrading packages from the Kubuntu desktop is too long a
process, requiring, in my opinion, too many clicks in different and
unintuitive places.
The current process goes as follows. The "upgraded packages available"
icon appears on the system tray. Clicking it opens the plasmoid, which
has the button labeled "Update" on it. One might think that clicking it
would start the upgrade, but it only starts the application Discovery,
which is started but remains minimized on the task bar. After clicking
the task bar entry, the application opens and on its window one can find
"Update all" button, which opens the authentication dialog. After
providing credentials, the upgrade is finally started.
Perhaps the click course could be shortened. Minimal version would be
that the upgrade would be started by just clicking the system tray entry
once, which would immediately start the upgrade in Discovery and the
authentication dialog would appear.

[Bug 542293] Re: vlc actions for CDs and DVDs don't appear in KDE's Device Notifier
This bug was actually not fixed. The problem is twofold: 1. Solid action files have incorrect content. This was fixed in VLC's master git branch just recently on 22.11.2010 (commit 99ebae0c04aa2ce0b3085fbba78f4245c713d9c2). 2. The files in question are installed into a wrong location. The correct one is /usr/share/kde4/apps/solid/actions/. I seem to have the same problem, except that for me it manifests only with BPM tags in those FLAC files, which are located in the collection directories. All the other tags are fine, and even the BPM is displayed correctly for tracks added to the playlist from a directory not in the collection. BPM tags for mp3 and ogg files work correctly always.
