This is no bug, but desired function: in /etc/aiccu.conf the option
"daemonize" has to be true in new installations, because of new upstart-

[Bug 1261653] Re: aiccu can not route, looses route

2014-01-19 Thread Lars Düsing
Joni-Pekka,
in short:
would you please be so kind, and start "sudo tcpdump -i wlan0 -s 1514 -w
aiccu.tcpdump tcp port 3874 or udp port 3740 or udp port 5072 or proto 41 or
icmp" in one terminal and "ping6 -c5 heise.de" in an other.
After the ping6 finishes, type ctrl-c in the tcpdump-terminal to stop tcpdump.
Then send us the file aiccu.tcpdump .
(Of course you should do this in the event aiccu doesn't work)

The tcpdump matches all aiccu-related traffic (and so all data which
runs via ipv6, so please do not login to any webservice or send any
confidential data while running tcpdump!)

[Bug 1001432] Re: apport doesn't deliver aiccu.log but sensitive information with bug reports

2012-06-11 Thread Lars Düsing
{preparation for SRU}
[Impact]
- High impact
 * Sensitive Information is transmitted to public launchpad (Username,
PASSWORD!)
- Medium to Low impact
 * Finding configuration errors is harder without aiccu.log

[Test Case]
 apport-bug --save /tmp/apport-aiccu.report aiccu
  - verify that your information is in the report-> after patch there should be
##MASKED## instead of them.
  - verify the presence of "var.log.aiccu.log" -> after patch there should be
this key with the relevant information

[Regression Potential]
 - relatively low
 * it could happen that there are no apport-reports at all. (If my apport-hook
is such horrible failing...)
 * there should be no regression potential at all for the service aiccu at all
- there is no change in any part called by this programme.

data befor it is sent to launchpad.
- changed debian/aiccu.install: installs the apport-hook
  * Add apport hook for /var/log/aiccu.log

[Bug 1007408] Re: aiccu.conf does not need server directive, while upstart script wants it

2012-06-22 Thread Lars Düsing
{preparation for SRU}
[Impact]
- Medium to Low impact
 * not all correct config-files are accepted by upstart-script: there is a
default-server in aiccu.

[Test Case]
delete / comment out the line "server tic.sixxs.net" in /etc/aiccu.conf
start aiccu via upstart-script: An error is thrown in /var/log/aiccu.log and
aiccu is not being started.
start aiccu via sudo /usr/sbin/aiccu start: aiccu is being started (no entries
in aiccu.log due it is only written by upstart-script)

[Regression Potential]
 - low
 * aiccu could not being started by upstart-script.

  [Original Report]
  The /etc/init/aiccu.conf is failing if in /etc/aiccu.conf there is no
"server" directive. The server directive is not neccessary and aiccu was
working fine without it (before init script was transitioned to upstart).
Please fix this.

  If no server is specified in /etc/aiccu.conf , the /etc/init/aiccu.conf
  should assume "tic.sixxs.net", I guess.

Thank you for helping making ubuntu a better experience!

By the way:
- you seem to have some troubles with your monitor
  * try to connect your monitor via an other port (DVI/HDMI/VGA)
- you seem to have some troubles with an usb-device
  * It's called Burr-Brown from TI, but I cannot tell what the problem is,
maybe ask https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux for more help.

[Bug 1051231] [NEW] on creating main window X gets unusable, memory consumption gets overly high, high I/O-Load

2012-09-15 Thread Lars Düsing
Public bug reported:

after starting a wireframe shows up, and then a high I/O-load occurs, memory is
consumed up to 90%, X-Windows gets completely unusable (freezes), but changing
to console (ctrl-alt-f1) is possible - 20-40s after pressing the keys - and
instantly I/O-load drops to zero as switching to console happens.
Therefore I think this may be a problem with QT or even X-Windows itself.
There are some errors printed by picard/QT/X-Windows on the running terminal:

what brings us again to: LP: #406397 ...
So, the only general solution is a pre-start-script like
  #!/bin/bash

ping -c1 tic.sixxs.net >/dev/null
reachable=$?
if [ "$reachable" != "2" ]; then
count=11
fi
count=$[$count+1]
  done

James, could you give me any hint, whether the above dirty hack would have any
chance to be accepted?
(It would be nice if we get this in precise before final release...)

[Bug 967095] Re: aiccu fails to start if DNS services are not started

2012-03-28 Thread Lars Düsing
James,
I see your problem, but I cannot find a general fix for your problem at the
moment.
Until then two quick and dirty solutions: EITHER
- add tic.sixxs.net and the endpoint of your tunnel to /etc/hosts
OR
- change "start on net-device-up IFACE!=lo" to "start on started bind9 and
net-device-up IFACE!=lo"
(last one should work, but not tested, I will do, if you have any problems)

Problem is: you cannot add a general dependency to bind in the upstart
configuration, because if no bind is installed it won't match anytime.

[Bug 967095] Re: aiccu fails to start if DNS services are not started

2012-03-28 Thread Lars Düsing
Another solution would be a pre-start-script in upstart-config, which
checks wether tic.sixxs.net could be resolved, and wait if not. (Or I
have to get through upstart-documentation, wether it is possible to
pospone a start of a service and try it x seconds later, or such..)

2012-04-03 Thread Lars Düsing
Peter, you have not edited /etc/aiccu.conf after updating aiccu?
aiccu does start correctly, as far as I can see.
Your Problem has been documented only twice, both times something with mysql,
see:
- https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bacula/+bug/822573
- https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mysql-5.1/+bug/668617

The Problem lies in dpkg as far as I can see.

I'll add dpkg as being affected.

Thank you.

2012-06-15 Thread Lars Düsing
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to
look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many
changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem
may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if
you could test it on a currently supported Ubuntu version. When you test
it and it is still an issue, kindly upload the updated logs by running

Re: [Bug 458223] Re: package aiccu 20070115-9 failed to install/upgrade: subproces post-installation script werd gedood door signaal (Interrupt)

2012-05-12 Thread Lars Düsing
Marcin,

Ok, this may be a problem, but who installs an IPv6-tunnel on a machine
without a working networking stack? And how should aiccu react if
anybody does it either?
About powerdns - 3.1.4 ? precise has 3.0-1ubuntu1. Homepage has 3.1-1.

And the problem described should be no problem with powerdns any more -
since 2007/03/25 - see http://wiki.powerdns.com/trac/changeset/996/trunk
