account-data is left in /etc/aiccu.conf:

if adding account data ("username","password") to /etc/aiccu.conf
doesn't help, please try to run "sudo aiccu stop; sudo aiccu autotest

after starting a wireframe shows up, and then a high I/O-load occurs, memory is
consumed up to 90%, X-Windows gets completely unusable (freezes), but changing
to console (ctrl-alt-f1) is possible - 20-40s after pressing the keys - and
instantly I/O-load drops to zero as switching to console happens.
Therefore I think this may be a problem with QT or even X-Windows itself.

James, I see your problem, but I cannot find a general fix for your problem at the moment. Another solution would be a pre-start-script in upstart-config, which checks wether tic.sixxs.net could be resolved, and wait if not. Peter, you have not edited /etc/aiccu.conf after updating aiccu? aiccu does start correctly, as far as I can see.
